Holdsworth House Hotel

We had a super short break here. The hotel was just what we hoped for. It was clean, tidy and warm. The food was really first class along with the service. Lots of nice touches. We booked to bring our dog with us and this was catered for perfectly. Some lovely ideas like towels at the entrance for muddy paws. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Went for afternoon tea with my sister for her birthday absolutely amazing,wonderful staff can’t do enough for you. Fabulous location and the property is beautiful. The scones were delicious and lovely and warm fresh tea leaves in china cups.

Thankyou to all of the wonderful friendly staff at Holdsworth House for making our Twixmas stay with friends very special. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the food was great . Happy New year to you all and looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Lovely room, comfortable bed with a great coffee machine. Great service at the bar and lovely cocktails. Then breakfast……. We were seated by a lovely, young man who brought tea and coffee. The coffee was terrible and not gourmet as described. It was in a silver pot. We then waited twenty minutes before we were asked if we would like toast. The toast arrived cold and soggy. Then our order was taken. Thirty minutes later still no breakfast. No one came and asked if we wanted more tea/coffee/toast. After asking how much longer we would have to wait, the older waitress didn’t even come and say: it’s on its way, five minutes nothing. After another five minutes we left with no breakfast. They did refund us but we wanted breakfast. It really let them down.

Very disappointed, arrived no coats taken had to put them on back of our chairs. table for four was more like a large games table & had to sit two at each end, destroyed any Intimacy. 8 course taster menu WITH wine flight, very poor quality food, only one warm dish, lacked imagination & wine was also very poor no better than Asda Service was generally poor with very little clear explanation of courses. Member of staff did say after one mistake sorry we are training this waitress, should that not be done before being given a taster menu table ? The table was also in a corridor area with lots of people continuously walking in & out of the area from a wedding party in other rooms which were supposed to be blocked off from restaurant area. Extremely disappointed having booked way in advance for a special pre Christmas get together. Spending nearly £600 & would not return anytime soon with friends or clients.

We got married in August this year at Holdsworth House and I have to say it was the Best day EVER! We booked the meal for our family the night before and everything was 10 out of 10! From our very first show around to the day itself I felt totally relaxed and new everything was been taken care of by our lovely wedding planner Ruby, she was the best and I can’t thank her enough for everything she did and said to make our day Magical! All our guests said how beautiful the venue was and that it was the best wedding they had been to! The food was outstanding and all the staff were very friendly and provided a great service over both the days we stayed. Big thank you to everyone involved for helping us have the most magical day 😊
