+ Great location and views. Staff is very nice. There's a laundry room you can use for free which was great. - Breakfast is not the best. If you're vegetarian you won't find anything 🙁 The pool is dirty and there's no space to sit and relax. It's allowed to smoke inside the hotel and rooms, so the smell will enter your room... For non Chinese speakers, please note that the staff doesn't know English and so you'll need to have a translation app to communicate and translate what's written.

I absolutely had a great experience staying at the Universal International hotel! I have been staying here for 5 or 6 times. The front desk staff are very nice and friendly. The check-in process was smooth and fast. The location was perfect for exploring the area. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The view from the window was absolutely gorgeous. I’d highly recommend this hotel to my friends and families and anyone! Thank you for providing this fantastic experience!

My fav hotel of all the hotels i stayed for my one mth long in china. Spacious room, bright and clean, laundry room with many washing machines, small gym and big reception counter. Breakfast included in my booking. The only unpleasant thing was a cockroach on the wall of the corridor near the lift which the staff did not get rid for me even thou i communicated with them over the phone, that i had to go down to the lobby to let them know again. They said it was removed so i went back up only to see it still on the wall, so i had to call to inform them again. Not removed but claimed it was removed. Haha. Either the cleaner lied to the lobby staff or miscomm somewhere. Nice hotel overall. Good view.

Slightly older hotel in the middle of all sites! Excellent location and lots of food options around. Would stay here again.

Traveled for business, location is good, center to markets and shopping, and walking tracks. Fort he price, with the special, it was a great deal. Rooms were OK, a little small and not the cleanest. Service and facilities were OK, basic enough to get by.

Receptionists were very professional, efficient and friendly. They were helpful to sort out our booking to accommodate our tour plan in Guilin and Yonghuo. Ms Yu (小余）was outstanding. We readily recommend this hotel to visitors for pleasure stay in Guilin

The Universal International Hotel far exceeded my expectations and needs! What a wonderful stay I had. The front desk staff, especially Miss Yu, was incredibly professional and helpful. I will most definitely being staying there again when I visit Guilin! Thank you!

Good hotel on a amazing location, staff speaks good english and checkin and check out was easy, breakfast was ok, but limited Western options, the pool is actually to small to be a pool, a kiddy pool is more fitting name, the view from the balcony is stunning, the room with a view super, only the windows could be a little cleaner, the tea set with tea on the table was a nice touch, the bed was comfortable and the bath was nice.

I recently stayed at the Universal International Hotel in Guilin, located next to the Li River and close to the Elephant Trunk scenic spot. I booked through Trip.com, but the check-in experience was disappointing as I had to wait an hour for my room to be ready. Fortunately, the staff were kind enough to upgrade my room due to the delay. The new room was much bigger and included a living room. Although the room was clean, the decoration felt outdated. I encountered issues with the toilet, which maintenance promptly fixed, but the bathroom drain emitted a terrible smell, necessitating that I keep the bathroom door closed. On the last evening, I was disturbed by a cockroach running around the floor. The hotel’s breakfast was quite poor, with a very limited selection. The so-called “international” options were almost nonexistent, consisting only of toast and coffee. I stayed for three nights but only ate breakfast once due to its subpar quality. However, the location of the hotel was excellent, being very close to all the scenic spots. Despite the responsive customer service in handling room issues, my overall experience at the hotel was very low, and I did not enjoy my stay. Given these issues, I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Overall was good. Liked their breakfast and their checkout time at 2pm that allowed us to have ample time to pack last minute. Will see you again next year.
