Breakfast is good ,location is idéal for a short stay Hôtel is a little old and would really need some refurbishment , requested a non smoking room but still was smelly . Smimming pool is good but not inside the hôtel , need to take a 5 minute walk , the outside pool is not heated

Great location close to everything!

For me, the Pearl River Ramada is in an ideal location, halfway between the Guangzhou Opera House and the Xinghai Concert Hall (in walking distance of both). And - if you choose - with a view of the Canton Tower. It is well run and well-served by taxis. The reception staff are professional and speak English. All staff are polite and helpful. The dining room offers very good buffet choices for breakfast and evening meal. The bedroom was comfortable and with that iconic view.

Service and location are phenomenal, the structure is old, decoration are overused, Breakfast food is good, missing egg station and real good coffee. 

The room was all around packed with someone’s hair

Experience pretty positive with our happiness.  Service is very good in reception and concerge, anyway in some area, like gym and pool, need more English speaking language personnel. Facility like gym, pool and changing room need a lot of improvement, presently really below a 4 stars hotel standard. Breakfast food is good anyway selection and variety should be dramaticaly improved. Lunch at Chinese restaurant was pretty good and really value for money !

I visited this hotel for Dragon Boat Festival weekend and it was the best decision made! The hotel is located right along the Pearl River in Yuexiu District within walking distance to the Canton Tower, Opera House, Sports Park and other popular sites. Convenient shopping and restaurants around hotel and easy to find hotel and see it. Beautiful views of both the river and the Tower. Was nice to wake up to an actual Dragon Boat Race on the river . Reception is helpful and friendly. Expect to pay a deposit equivalent to the room rate for each night (although Trip.com notes states 1000 kuai deposit, I paid 1500 for my two night stay but it will be refunded to my card eventually as confirmed on checkout, so make sure you have enough available for the deposit). Most staff at the hotel from reception to housekeeping speak basic English which is very convenient and makes communication easier. I was initially checked into the incorrect room but reception very quickly changed me to my correct room within a quick call. The bell hop came up which helped save time and was very friendly. The amenities in the room are excellent and while there were some negative reviews about “old furniture”, which, yes, might be a bit dated but actually fits the style of the room and more importantly was clean, well maintained and comfortable. The bathroom extractor did make an awfully loud sound (like crickets) but really not so bad as to affect sleeping. I was very impressed by the quality of the bathroom products (worked wonderfully to protect against mosquitoes and high quality!). Although the hotel states they don’t supply toothbrushes and such, they actually supply a full toiletry kit and replenish it daily. Water pressure and heat is great regardless of time of day. The bathtub is a little small and not very deep but also good. My only complaint is that the bath plug/stopper did not fully close so when taking a bath, the water would keep needing to be refilled causing a lot of water wastage. Also, Internet access when using the Ramada Backup preferred option was not great and I could not connect 🛜 fortunately, I could use the Ramada general Internet which offered better signal but required regular phone number access code for use. I stayed in a smoking 🚬 room which is quite lovely considering very few hotels offer this option and is a big reason why I booked the hotel. That being said as the floor to ceiling windows do not open it did, obviously, make the room and floor stuffy and smelly. It might be worth installing an extractor fan or having an air purifier in these rooms. The pool is lovely and big! I must say I am glad I read the reviews first because I brought a swimming cap and was able to use it. I suggest management include this in the details as it could be quite frustrating to people like me who book hotels primarily for the pool then only find this out upon arrival. The other thing to note is that the pool is actually in a different building at the Health Center so it’s not that quick to access from the hotel although it closes at 22:00. It is actually a paid for center so there are members there not part of the hotel. That being said, reception is helpful and will offer hotel guests a free towel but be sure to ask for it. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the level of amenities, service and care of all the hotel’s staff and will definitely choose this hotel again when visiting GZ. Excellent location and spectacular views. Furniture is dated but the beds are comfortable.

Clean, great location. Enjoyed the bathtub. Didn't use it, but the outside pool looked lovely. Good choice for breakfast. Good value for money. Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel is a little dated but my room was very clean and in excellent condition, as well as very spacious with a lovely view over the river. A great price for the location. Easy walk to great bars and restaurants. I would stay here again.

The hotel has a beautiful outdoor resort pool with end to end swim of 35 metres. It also has a smaller 20 metre length indoor lap pool. Both are open 7:00~22:00, so it is a great hotel for business trips, you can swim before or after your work day. They also have 2 or 3 squash courts. Breakfast selection was quite good. Their are nice local restaurants within walking distance and you are a 2 minute walk from the Pearl River which is lovely to walk along in the day or evening.

I chose this hotel because of its location and the fact is has an indoor pool. The pool was very quiet and it allows proper lane swimming. Really good. However there was a bad smell in the room and small flies in the bathroom. The toilet flush wasn't working and it made noise the whole night. I informed the staff in the morning and they fixed it straight away. Overall, a pleasant experience especially because of the pool. In spite of the bad smell I will probably go back, hopefully my next room will be better. The sheets were really clean too.

Good location, good facilities indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Personally less prefer carpet
