We recently returned from a stay at voco Guangzhou and would like to share our experience. The hotel enjoys an excellent location — centrally situated with a wide variety of eateries and shops nearby, making it convenient for both leisure and exploration. We had booked two premium twin-bed rooms and specifically requested adjacent rooms during a pre-arrival phone call. Unfortunately, upon check-in, we were informed that adjacent rooms were unavailable. Instead, we were offered two rooms with another room in between. However, when we reached our floor, we discovered that the rooms were actually separated by at least four other rooms, which left us feeling slightly misled. Despite this, we chose to accept the arrangement. On a positive note, the rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed. We appreciated the daily provision of herbal tea and particularly liked the bathroom mirror that remained clear and fog-free even after a hot shower. The inclusion of an ironing board and iron and umbrella (as it was rainy season) was also thoughtful. That said, the air conditioning system could be improved. During our stay, the weather in Guangzhou was quite hot, and we found the air conditioning difficult to regulate — at times it was overly cold, while at other times it felt stuffy. Service-wise, the hotel staff were warm and attentive throughout. Special mention goes to Mia, who assisted with arranging airport pickup, and Wyman, who kindly helped us secure tickets online for the Canton Tower. Other staff members were equally helpful, especially in assisting with our luggage during both arrival and departure. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at voco Guangzhou and look forward to choosing this hotel again for our future visits.

We went to inner cities of China before Voco, upon arrival of the hotel, we felt so welcoming and relaxed at the reception area, my family members slept so well at night, breakfast is impressive with wide selections, good presentations and all are tasty, of all my personal travel so far in China I would give a perfect rating for breakfast, breakfast service team is prompt and polite too. Room is clean, any request from room eg extra towel, water, etc .. were promptly attended, parcels delivered to hotel are well kept and sent to room. The only few things I would say are probably not seen enough luggage carts and robots for delivery, also laundry & dryer are not free.. else the staff are very helpful especially May , Goria from reception and Wayne, James from the concierge, and the whole team at the reception..the aunty lady delivered soup also very pleasant and sorted out my confusion on hair dryer operation. Prompt and skilful technician that resolved the toilet bowl issue quickly. Good locations and I will come back again and recommend to my family/friends. I hope management could provide free laundry in the future. Thank you!

Excellent location- easy access to the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, Yongqingfang (10-15 minute walk) and Shamian Island (600 m walk).The streets and shops in the vicinity retain local flavour and character . Staff assigned my elderly parents an accessible room. Rooms are large and comfortable and beds are firm. Service is prompt and attentive. Of note is Eden who recommended dining spots popular with locals and eagerly assisted my elderly parents. Sunny, Wyman, Rene and Sean are efficient. The staff assisting with Didi were very kind to my elderly parents- especially Teresa. Cons- Water pressure is strong but the hot water supply is inconsistent. My room safe was faulty and my parents' bathroom had the smell of sewage.

Good service staff approachable and friendly. Location near to eating and shopping street. I'm going back there in December.

Enjoyed our stay at Voco. Location was great and we tried many eateries within walking distance like 陶陶居 and 莲香楼. Many shops around as it's just on 上下步行街. There are clothing shops, desserts shops and small eateries everywhere. We love the most about the huge room, more than sufficient for the 3 of us. Special thanks to the pleasant surprise of the double boiled soup in our room when we returned one night. Highly recommend.

Amazing hotel in Liwan which I believe is the older district being developed as the next city centre. This has its charms as my Cantonese is far more proficient than my Mandarin and was easily able to navigate the district, the front of house team do speak English. Large clean rooms and quality amenities such as the rooftop pool and gym are available. The nightly soup cooked traditional Cantonese style was always something that surprised and delighted after a day out. Guy, who I believe is in housekeeping/maintenance was amazing when I had issues getting the laundry to work at 9pm in the evening - this needs a better system for foreigners would be my criticism. Also, on the Trip.com app, there is no indication that this is an additional cost (screenshot attached) albeit being cheap. Viki, at the cafe just outside on level 1 was super helpful along with the doormen who would often recommend local places to see, eat, and/or experience. I have a cat allergy but the cutest cat ever is living life and thriving downstairs keeping me company most mornings! May, who checked me out was quick to rectify issues with my deposit being refunded - although it did take 3 hours as opposed to the stated 10 minutes. I had to call from the airport to chase this otherwise it may have been forgotten however the team were very apologetic as this is much appreciated. 100% would return 100% would recommend

This was a great hotel for a short weekend trip. It’s in the older area of Guangzhou so it’s a little bit of a walk from the metro, but otherwise convenient in terms of food and local shopping. The hotel itself is really clean and the rooms are spacious. Every night, hot soup was left in a thermos in our room for us to enjoy when we returned which was a lovely touch of hospitality. Sunny was super helpful during check-in and when we asked for late checkout, and Lily was great during checkout as well. Overall a nice stay!

Booked Voco Guangzhou Shifu as recommended by friend. Good choice indeed. Hotel reception staff was friendly and helpful, efficient for both check in and check out. Thanks for Shaun, Mona and May from hotel reception. The hotel room was beautiful and spacious. Most impressive was the complimentary double boiled soup in hot flask served to the bedroom each night, that was super sweet. The location of hotel was good too, small eateries and shops all around and nearby.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Love the deco. Bathroom glass turned opaque at the flip of a switch for privacy. There’s free coffee and tea at the lobby during breakfast hours. Thumbs up to this. Location is just round the corner from Shang Xia jiu pedestrian street and a short walk to Enning road and Chang Shou road. There’s also a dry goods market, spectacle wholesale market nearby. Lots of food around and a few Michelin bib gourmand recommended eateries within a short walk. Staff Reene Xiao and May were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Staff and rooms are clean and good customer service. Their manager in the restaurant and cafe Knows English and very accommodating. We didnt have any problem at all. The hotel smells so nice!

Nice and clean room in a good location where you can shop and eat just around the corner. Both firm and soft pillows provided which is key to a good night sleep. Great service provided by front line staff.

Room is spacious and clean on high flow. Convenient location near to 上下九步行街。Plus, coming back to seeing the healthy soup prepared for you in the room - that’s so sweet of voco team.
