Grundarfjordur Bed and Breakfast

Great little B&B just off the harbour front in the lovely town of Grundarfjordur. The code for the key box was emailed to us the day before and was easily located. Parking was good but there is also on road parking. We had room 2 located up a flight of stairs and a view of harbour. Kirkjurfell can be seen from the landing. The room was great. Not large but equipped with everything you need for an overnight stay. The bed was very comfy and i(n-between waking due to the syarm) we slept really well. The bathroom is modern with a great shower. A buffet breakfast was served in the cafe and was plentiful and delicious. The waitress was helpful and friendly. If exploring this are I would highly recommend

We were happy with our stay here. You need to call ahead to get the code for the lockbox where your room key is kept. The rooms are clean and modern, but a bit on the small side - just about 3 feet of space around the bed. We never saw the owner during our visit. They do provide wifi and a kettle - instant coffee is in a jar on the table. No microwave. The TV has Netflix which was nice. A good breakfast is served at 8 am in the restaurant next door - hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, breads, yogurt, coffee and juice.

The bed was so comfortable - the best we had in our time in Iceland - the shower was hot with great water pressure, and the properly is nicely-located and easy to find. Self check-in process was easy to do. Located very close to restaurants and the vinbudin, as well as to the tour company we used for an afternoon excursion. Loved our overnight stay here in Grundarfordur and hope to be back!

Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans ce B&B et sommes perplexes et partagés… Nous avions un voucher et, comme il n’y a aucune personne présente, nous avons dû appeler une personne au téléphone pour avoir le code pour récupérer notre clé mise à disposition dans un boîtier … La chambre était correcte avec une très bonne literie mais… une odeur bizarre à notre arrivée ( sans doute la cuisine du restaurant voisin) qui s’est estompée … Autre souci, la chambre n’a pas du tout été refaite entre nos 2 nuits. Le petit déjeuner se prend dans le restaurant attenant et était basique mais correct. À noter qu’il n’ouvre qu’à 8 h, mais comme nous devions partir très tôt le 2eme jour, nous avons pu avoir une boîte à emporter tout à fait correcte. Il faut souligner l’accueil et le service très sympas de l’équipe de service de ce restaurant
