Pros: great views, well spread buffet breakfast. Hot water available in common dining area, lots of tables available. Clean toilets and showers. Cons: location very far uphill, limited bus service timing, reception opening hours also limited, no lifts. Bunk beds no curtains, can be noisy from other rooms given its hostel. Limited charging ports in the room. Note: need 2 CHF cash for lockers

breakfast was the best part no doubt. Only problem is the bus doesn’t run until late which means you have to come back to hostel by 6:55 pm. And there isn’t much to do around the area if the hostel. But good place

This cosy guesthouse is situated in a picturesque spot, a short distance from the centre. From any room, you can enjoy views of the Eiger (see photo). Julian, the excellent manager, is on hand to help with any queries. The well-run kitchen serves generous breakfasts, and you can also order lunch and dinner. It’s a shame I only stayed here for three nights.

Budge for this area and good, staff is friendly, toilet is quite clean

Grindelwald Youth Hostel offers a clean, comfortable stay with amazing mountain views and very friendly staff. The shower had steady hot water, and the hostel is easy to reach by taking bus No. 122 from the main station. The room did not have a hairdryer, but one could be borrowed for a 10 EUR cash deposit, which was refunded at check-out. Although the hostel is a bit uphill and not the easiest to reach, the peaceful atmosphere and good value make it worthwhile.

The location and view were outstanding, big snow clad mountains right outside the window were fab. A bit uphill but perfect. Its an old and rich swiss cottage maintained really well.

Do sure to head to the tourist centre at Grindelwald station(not Terminal) to get your transport pass for the day of arrival so that you don’t have to hike up over 100 meters to the hostel. Also the check the reception hours, they aren’t opened the whole day.

There are no electrical outlets by the beds. Also, there were only two lockers for a four-person room, so some people had no choice but to leave their belongings outside. The hostel is located uphill from the station, but you’ll receive a bus ticket valid for use within the city at check-in. In my case, I spoke with the bus driver on my way to the hostel before check-in and was able to ride for free. Also, while the reception desk appears to be closed from 10 am to 4 pm, you can leave your luggage in the lockers in the basement before check-in. However, the lockers cannot be locked.

The hostel had a great location, with great vibes. The room's balcony was directly facing alps and the views are astonishing! Remember to catch a bus from train station and walking there could be difficult!

The room were so neat and clean. Had all the facilities in there. A calm place to stay.

Enjoyed our stay. We did not realize trip.con enforces rule communication must be done in trip.com, so we were late to provide important information for late check-in. Luckily the trip.com call works, we managed to contact the hostel. The hostel provided a very detailed information how to perform late check-in after reception close. They have 2 buildings, old building and new building. We stayed at new building, but most of the amenities like kettles, microwaves and fridge are in old building. So it's a bit inconvenient to walk over especially in cold weather.

Good view! But you might need to hike abit… anyway you can sit the bus but only up till 6pm (depends on the season). Overall, good stay!

I contacted the hostel as soon as possible, but I was told that nothing had been found, even though I am certain I left it there. What made the experience even more frustrating was the very poor communication. For several hours during the day, it was basically impossible to reach anyone, and emails were not replied to in a timely manner. When guests are dealing with lost belongings, efficient communication should be a basic expectation. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the lack of responsiveness and support left me very disappointed.
