One of the worst places i have ever traveled to..The food was so bad i got food poisoning ..Dr on call knew nothing about food poisoning or extreme diarrhea and when you some kind of help they look at you clueless..i've been to 7 other Sandals this is by far the worst don't waste your time or money on this place ..and the beach is very small

Sandals has done their big one with Dunn's River. My husband and I consider ourselves a very important part of the Sandals family and will always tell you our favorite and our not so favorites. This one easily made it up with some of our top resorts with Sandals. This was our first time on this property, and it did not disappoint. So beautiful and the staff is more than amazing. Jesse and Peter Gaye in loyalty are sure to make sure you are always taken care of. Melissa the hotel manager has a smile to lighten up any room and a heart to make you never want to leave the resort. We were gifted with the best butler team who attention to detail was amazing. They noticed what we liked quickly and made sure we always had it. Calling the front desk for anything was pure pleasure because they answered as if they were waiting on your call. We loved it so much we booked it for our 20th wedding anniversary. The views at this resort is one of a kind and the roof top weight room is unmatched. It is by far the best I have ever seen. If I could offer any improvements, I would say to control the bees because they are a little too aggressive. Myself along with others were stung while just sitting in the pool. I would also suggest the entertainment team to be more present at the pool. This is the first resort I have left and literally cannot tell you who the entertainment team is or what entertainment they had during the day because it was never anything happening at the pool. It seemed to be more on the beach and us seasoned Sandals people love a good pool activity and pool volleyball with entertainment.

My husband and I recently spent a week at Sandals Dunns and had a terrific experience. The resort is beautiful, with lush grounds and photo ops everywhere you look. The food was tasty with lots of vegetarian options for me and I especially loved visiting Blum each morning for coffee, and then sitting out on my balcony to drink it and enjoy the view. The trip was made extra special by our two butlers, Romeo and Vivian, who took excellent care of us, and also by Nichole at the spa. I wanted to pamper myself on this trip and had two massages and a facial with Nichole - she was excellent and such a sweet person. Definitely go and see her while you’re at Dunns! I also loved enjoying the pools and steam room at the spa almost every day.

I've been in bed for Two days with food poisoning from this place ...had a Dr and nurse come to my room costed $1000 they should have eaten the cost ...stay away from this place Sandals has gone down hill ..and i will never go to another Sandals ...

Sandals Dunn's river was a great experience. Big shout-out to Sheneil and Orian ( Oryan?) for taking great care of us throughout our stay. Highly recommend this resort as the food, drinks, and people were all great! Also recommend doing the falls!

It’s taken me this long to review my stay at Sandals Dunns-river as I felt like I needed a holiday after this holiday. Sandals Dunns fell short below my expectations. The food was mediocre. The worst yet was the Asian cuisine, with its soy sauce excessive rice, bland salmon and horrible tasting desserts. The **** chicken wasn’t jerking at all at the beach restaurant. Breakfast choices were ok but more island choices would’ve been better. One night, we got back to our room with no towels, as the house keeping forgot to refresh towels. We also had to wait 40 minutes for the towels to arrive, and missed half of a wedding event because we couldn’t shower or get ready. The pastries at the coffee bar always seem to be stale. The service at the beach bar apparently, it seems that one has to be Caucasian to be served before anyone else even if you’ve. Placed your order. Sandals was missing the S at the end it stands alone with the S trying to catch up…I will never return.

Sandal’s Dunn’s River was our first Sandal’s resort, and it did not disappoint. I will break down each section for everyone thinking about this resort below. Airport/Shuttle: We flew Charlotte to Montego Bay, we decided to choose Club Mobay to help with arrival and departure. I would 100% recommend this if you have never flown into Jamaica before. We had the early flight so the airport wasn’t super busy yet, but we still got through customs extremely quickly and efficiently. We then went to the Sandals lounge and checked in. Then we went to the Club Mobay lounge and they served us food/drinks while we waited for our shuttle to the resort. Our luggage was loaded by an airport luggage employee who was very pushy about tipping him. I would HIGHLY recommend bringing $5s and $10s with you. You never tip Sandal’s employees, but you will tip randomly like at the airport, your shuttle drivers, and your tour guides. The shuttle was LONG. That is the only drawback of this whole experience. Be prepared for about an hour and a half journey with aggressive driving. Our shuttle drivers were great, the driving is just a different experience than the states. Arrival at Resort: We arrived at the resort to a welcoming committee and cold towels, and then we were escorted to the Club Sandals Lounge. I would HIGHLY recommend always choosing the club sandals level. It was very helpful the entire trip. We were very fortunate to be upgraded to the butler sky pool suite without the butler. It was the most beautiful room and view. Thanks to our travel agent, Korie Whited with Travelmation for all her hard work. Food: The food was what I was most nervous about going into our first Sandals. My husband can be an extremely particular eater. It surpassed our expectations by miles. Banyu was our favorite, and it seemed to be everyone else’s too. Our recommendation would be to go immediately at 6:00 pm or you may have to wait 45 minutes to an hour. Blum (the coffee shop) was my favorite spot. The coffee is superb and my husband LOVED the coffee cake. Lunch was probably the weakest option. There just weren’t as many choices as dinner even though the lunches are fabulous. I would definitely recommend ordering breakfast room service!!! Oh my word, the French toast and pancakes were AMAZING! Activities: The one off resort activity I 100% recommend is to climb Dunn’s River Waterfall. We had the most amazing experience there. It is worth doing once in your life. We ran into some pushy sales people leaving the waterfall so just a reminder to keep your head down and unfortunately feel rude. Other than that, I would recommend just signing up for all the resort/water activities you can. My husband and I learned to Snuba, we swam in the ocean, we kayaked, we snorkeled, and we did the glass bottom boat which was beautiful! You can literally snorkel with just a small boat ride from the resort, it was really neat. The people: From the moment we got off the plane the people

This is our 20th time back to Jamaica and most of these vacations have been with SANDALS. We arrived at the Montego Bay airport In the early afternoon and took advantage of the Club Mobay arrival service. It was very quick and efficient. We stopped at the Sandals Lounge and had time to pour a beer and use the restroom. We were quickly whisked off to our shuttle by the Red Hat Porter. They are always very pleasant. The bus ride took about 2 hours and the traffic was a bit slow. We arrived at the resort around 4 pm and were quickly checked into our Mammee Club level room. The room was modern and we were very happy with it. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the balcony, and listening to the ocean waves. We have attached a photo of the view from our balcony. The afternoon and evening could get some noise from the neighbouring Riu resort. When the patio doors were closed, the noise was very minimal. It was very easy to get chairs on the beach or around the pool. Both the pools and the beach were very nice. The beach got a bit windy in the afternoons. For breakfast, we mostly grabbed a coffee and snack from Blum. The coffee shop is a very nice place to hang out in the morning or after dinner. We did have breakfast our last day at the resort, and it was quite well done. The lunch buffet was excellent as well. We were a bit underwhelmed with the beach grill and Isola pizza restaurant. It was ok, but we found the buffet much better. We ate at the French restaurant twice, the Italian restaurant twice, the Asian restaurant, the Greek restaurant and the returning guest dinner. All the dinner restaurants that we went to had very good service and the food was very good. Paula, Kimberly and Kadisha took very good care of us at the French restaurant. Our first night at the French restaurant Eugene was the maitre de and made our night very enjoyable. The maître de at the Italian restaurant (sorry I didn’t retain his name) made an effort to check in on us several time and made sure we have enough wine. The live music in the morning ie) saxophone, steel drums, violin and signing was very relaxing and put the resort a notch above the rest. Jessie at the Loyalty desk was around quite a bit and very knowledgeable on where we should book next. She is a great resource for anyone that wants to book on site. We got to meet the GM, Derek Meany. He is very nice and gave us a lot of background on the resort and the staff. At the end of our stay, we didn’t want to leave. We will return.

Just recently returned and I must say this trip was very average and not what I expected from Sandals. Excuse for any misspelled names! Pros: The spa was the best part of my trip, 5 of us received massages, the names I have on hand, Marsha, Shantell and Sashana they were EXCELLENT. The rest of the staff were very friendly especially Shon, and Ketia by seaside and the pool. They looked out for us daily. The resort was clean, and modern. Cons: Food was LACKING. I mean, we were highly disappointed. Banyu had the worst asian food I've ever encountered. I mean your local Chinese/Asian restaurant could run laps around that place. My sister was sick the first night, and the French wasn't any better. Italian was the best experience besides the very anxious and passive host. we opted to go to Sandals Ocho for the last night because we couldn't take another day of eating at the restaurants. (The manor was a great Caribbean option) I booked the Travertine building "penthouse" which is the 7th floor. I would not spend extra $$ for this, you have a view of a very dirty roof to your left and I just couldn't look past this, however to the right was a very nice view. (Others may not care much about this) My parents were on the 3rd floor and paid less and their view was 100% better. I couldn't sleep for 2 days because the "motion sensor" light in the closet turned on and off literally every 30 seconds and I am such a light sleeper. I called for service twice, only when I received a message on WhatsApp from Sandals that must be autogenerated to guest did this partially solve the problem. They just turned the light off entirely so I had no light in the closet. Our AC wasn't working properly, and had to call twice to fix. I'm sure the solution was simple but we didn't understand why the room wasn't getting cold. I ended up figuring out eventually and told the person who arrived I believe the issue was fixed. The next day someone showed up to fix the already resolved issue thinking this was a new request so there was a disconnect. House keeping was inconsistent, didn't replenish items like tea bags and used items. I felt like I spent so much time calling the front desk or stopping by concierge. Lastly- this part of the review is on the behalf of my sister who had butler services. Dexter was very friendly and helpful, the other butler Ricardo was very inconsistent. She booked her own spa appointments and had to figure out a lot of things on her own which to me defeats the entire point. The feedback she shared with me I couldn't believe. She's the type to just let stuff go, and on the last day he actually asked her where did they leave the tip.. not how was your stay, is there any thing else I can do.. but only one question where was his tip. And apparently one of the other workers at the resort heard him and her face expression was of just pure shock. Unacceptable! Everyone has their preferences, I am sharing my experience.
