Wainwright Inn

This was perhaps our favorite accommodations of our whole trip (we stayed in 9 places). The historic house is amazing - beautifully preserved and decorated. The room we had (the Barrington room) was very comfortable. Chris and Barbara were very friendly and made the most amazing breakfast. Would absolutely stay here again.

The Wainwright Inn was the perfect place to hold a Writers' Studio in the heart of the inspiring Berkshires. We booked the entire Inn for a week which allowed for all participants to have their own comfortable, spacious, well-appointed rooms. Each morning we enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and Barb's wonderful home-baked treats. The front parlor was an ideal place to hold our morning writing workshops. We then returned from our afternoon museum and gallery visits to the comfort and welcome of big wide porches and garden benches -- perfect places to write. The Innkeepers, Chris and Barb, were wonderfully welcoming, and our participants gave the Inn top reviews, including: "It was ideal that we had the entire space. It helped establish us as a community very quickly. The shared breakfast was a wonderful way to commune and start the day together. The availability of coffee/tea throughout the day was appreciated." I highly recommend.

The Wainwright Inn proved to be an comfortable and affordable lodging choice in an area of expensive hotels. It was convenient to the attractions we wanted to visit in Stockbridge, Lennox and Bennington. The exterior was attractive and the common area and room was clean. Breakfast was very good. Restaurants are nearby.

We love the Wainwright Inn. Our family has stayed here several visits. The rooms are always cozy and clean and the beds are comfortable. This last visit we stayed in the carriage house, which had its own sitting area and kitchen. The gardens are beautiful. We love that we can walk into town for dinner drinks, shops, etc. Breakfast, prepared by Chris, is exceptional. Barb and Chris always go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. We highly recommend and look forward to returning soon.

We had a terrific one night stay in the Laura Room. There was a very comfortable bed and plenty of drawers and hooks. Everything was very clean! There is no door between the bathroom and bedroom in Laura Room. Breakfast was quite good.

Great stay, amazing breakfast. Stayed in the Berkshire room with my partner for one night. I will say it’s not an accessible suite - had to climb up a few flights of stairs to get there. But the room was lovely, amazingly comfortable bed, and efficient A/C. Hot breakfast is served in the dining room and it was delicious!
