Premier Inn Durham (Newton Aycliffe)

The best premier inn we have ever stayed in hands down without shadow of a doubt. For a start, we walked into the room and there was an A4 piece of paper on the side informing us THREE eggs had been hidden in the room for us to find. Cue the excitement and frenzy as we all (including 30 year old me and 60 year old granny) raced round the room to find the eggs. Granny made the rookie mistake of going for the bathroom but let’s be honest who’s hiding eggs in the toilet lass. Meanwhile in the bedroom, the frenzy continued resulting in one 12 year old being shoved out of the way and two milk cartons being thrown into the abyss to retrieve the final egg in what can only be described as an act of pure excellence. We then went to the reception to redeem the mystery prize and the 30 year old claimed the children’s Easter egg #winnerwinnerchickendinner The staff were awesome, super friendly and accommodating. We are already planning our next trip here, perfect location to explore Durham and to use as a pit stop for beamish. 10/10 guys!

Great spacious family room and very friendly staff. Great price and breakfast but more than this was the staff going above and beyond for the kids. Little free treats and an Easter egg hunt set up in our room before our arrival was above, beyond and the kids were well happy with their prizes! Never had a stay like it just from a simple little extra for the kids. Excellent A+ Service and will certainly stay here again when travelling north. Thanks. Perfect hotel for overnight stop over on the way to Newcastle. Everything you expect from a Premier Inn. Loved Bobbie's little gift of chocolate biscuits from room service. It's little things that make a big difference. Hotel also really helpful ahead of stay to ensure we were aware of local roadworks and how it affected the access.

Ive stayed here over the years a number of times with the kids. This time is was without them. They love the Hungry horse which is excellent value for money and loads of choice. I like the friendly welcome and its always nice and clean and cheap. About 20 mins outside Durham. Great for touring. Newton Aycliffe town centre was disappointing when we walked there with lots of closed down shops. Apparently this premier inn will have an upgrade soon. I hope this doesn’t increase the price . We love this premier inn.

From the courtesy call to confirm the booking, to the friendly welcome and extra treats in the room, this was unlike any other Premier Inn experience we’ve had before! A couple of minor issues sorted in a jiffy! An excellent stay ahead of a day out at Beamish!

First time at a premier inn. Great value for money over all, good facilities and amenities available. Very comfortable bed! Breakfast could be better if all menu items were available. Dinner was great and evening serving staff were lovely too.
