Chestnut Villa

Another stay at the wonderful Chesnut Villa in beautiful Grasmere. Spotless rooms, gorgeous bathroom with power shower and pretty claw foot bath. Marshall radio, great TV. Wonderful views. A short and pretty walk into the town centre. Super comfy beds. Mike is a lovely host and his cafe, Freda and Ray in the village serves great coffee. Will always stay here when I am in the lake district. Highly recommend.

We had been camping for 2 weeks & although the weather had been kind to us it was great to sleep in a lovely comfortable bed. The bathroom was fabulous, a huge walk in shower & free standing bath so I enjoyed both. The room & bathroom was spotlessly clean which is really important to me. The view was lovely too. The fact that you let yourself in but someone is nearby to help if needed is perfect. The location was great, walking distance into the village. A really great place to stay, would highly recommend. The owners own a cafe in the village where we had some breakfast (not included in the price of the room but you do get a discount) & the food was delicious

Outstanding. What a beautiful place to stay! The room has been styled with a light touch, fusing 60s and modern. Immaculately clean, decadently cosy , comfortable and spacious . Michael is the perfect host, not at all intrusive but there to help with whatever we needed. If I could have given more than 5 stars I would have. Superb!

Chestnut Villa is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Grasmere. It feels like staying in a 5 star hotel but with the benefits and pricing of a family run guesthouse. This will be my fifth stay over the last eight years and each visit gets better. The beds are extremely comfortable and the pillows and bed linen are of the highest quality. The ensuites are beautifully presented and you can see a great deal of effort has gone into every detail. Coffee and tea are provided in the room and you can take a ten minute stroll down to the centre of Grasmere for breakfast or brunch at Mike's cafe, Freda and Ray. I highly recommend Chestnut Villa if you are looking for a luxury room in a stunning setting.

I stayed here in their suite in August and it was simply gorgeous. we stayed in a suite i think because it had a living room, bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom had a separate bath tub which was a roll top clawed feet tub and was heavenly!! Nice big sink, huge shower, all the fittings are just gorgeous and elegant really high quality. Despite it being on a main road we didn't hear a thing at night. There were games left to play so we had a cracker night either games and watched a film with the patio door open and the rain pouring down...it was so beautiful. My only criticism is the parking....its a sharp turn off the road onto a drive where we ate all sandwiched together but reversing on and off is tricky with the road. Also unfortunately look out for white boulders in the long grass as I badly damaged my car parking on the grass verge.. and didn't see the boulder hidden in the grass. other than that this is a superb little place and we'd happily stay here again xxx

We stayed here for a Saturday night. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and the rooms were lovely and clean too. Great bed and bathroom facilities. Will book here again if we go to Grasmere. It’s only five minutes walk from the village. Thanks for having us x
