Amazing

The property overall was very clean and welcoming. Our problems started before we got to the hotel. we received a notification saying they couldn't load our digital key (which we always use and bypass the desk). When we arrived, we were told the room wasn't ready and that was why the key didn't load. Thank goodness a mall with aTGIF was across the street. 3 hours later we went back to the desk and were told by a differant girl that someone was in the room we had checked into on line. So, we got a differant room on a differant floor and were handed plastic room cards. Well, do not plan on using a digital key here, as we were told repeatedly this was an energy efficient property. You NEED the plastic key to put in a slot to keep the lights on. So, the digital key arrived after we had checked in AT DESK and gotten plastic cards. Also, we were unable to use our firestick (which we have used at many hamptons) due to poor connectivity.... The breakfast was good, but for some reason, the coffee was not. I think this Hampton is having some sort of system issues..as we encountered, and I would like to know how Hilton will get around the "digital key" if you need a plastic one for the power in the room..the whole system we usually use at hilton properties was a big failure here..we wasted our time picking the room, checking in on the app..etc.. These "green" hotels need to figure out a fix.. so instead of our normal go right to the room with the app, we made 2 stops at the desk and a phone call..How GREEN is that?

Have stayed at this Hotel for the past 3 years. My son goes to college near this location. Was staying there for family weakened and received an e-mail on Sat. that we were checked out. My reservation was for 2 nights (checking out Sunday). When I called the hotel to find out what was going on and where our belongings were the female who answered was so rude. Not helpful or understanding in trying to see where the error was. All I received was her repeating her shift started at 3pm and someone had checked into our room! When I asked where our belongs were she just repeated the same thing over and over. Our reservation was for one night and she started at 3pm. We had to leave the family weekend football game at 8pm to go find out stuff! I was also told the hotel was sold out. When we go there she was rude and refusing to talk to us. Just said she did not have to deal with me and her manager was on his way. When I asked how much longer she just said she does not have to answer me and went to the back office. When he finally showed up he told me there was a call from me that I changed the reservation and someone was in our room. HUH? Then why did we leave our stuff in the room if I changed the reservation? We finally found out our stuff was in the room and no one had checked into it. ?!?!?!? Now all of a sudden there is a room for us? I said no thank you I found a new hotel. The manager couldn't even look us in the eyes after we gathered our belongings. On top of this I was over charged for the room. It was not the rate I locked in Feb. I have never been treated with such disrespect and unprofessionalism. She needs training on customer service or find a new job. All I want is to be credited back to my credit card for the one night since we had to leave a family weekend football game. Which never should of had to happen.

This had to be one of the cleanest Hampton Inn's I have visited. The person that checked us in was very nice. I wish I remembered his name. The lobby and room was very clean and smelled very nice. The pool was also very clean with plenty of towels. This would be a great hotel to stay for the weekend so the kids could swim. The only thing that kept this from a 5 star was the breakfast. I'm not sure what happened. The eggs were just about gone and cold. The sausage was also cold and there wasn't any fruit. Other than that, this was a great place to stay. There is several restaurants near by such as Outback. This would be an idea place to stay if your kids were playing in a soccer or football game as the school and fields were behind the hotel. I would highly recommend staying here to all my friends. As for the breakfast, I would guess that was just a one time deal. I don't think the hotel management would put up with this happening.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways. Super clean, comfortable, and quiet (located away from noisy streets or highways). It's like-new with modern features, like a sliding bathroom door and walk-in shower. Lots of counterspace and space to set suitcases. Very cleverly designed kitchenette. A not-too-bright built-in nightlight in the bathroom was a perfect touch (since I had forgotten to pack mine). The breakfast was Way Better than your typical included breakfast. Pet friendly! Friendly staff that made us feel welcome and appreciated.

If I could give this review a ZERO, I definitely would! We checked in around 3:25pm. We had twenty minutes to change into more formal wear for a family wedding. When we opened the door to our room 205, the bed was unmade and items were on the nightstand. Housekeeping didn’t touch this room from the previous guests. We alerted the hotel clerk named Alex. Instead of being apologetic, Alex was rude and defensive. We used the main hotel bathroom to quickly change into our wedding guest attire, and took off to the event. Upon returning at 10:45pm, the room was still not touched by housekeeping! We approached the desk and Alex said “what do you want?” We requested that our room be cleaned or give us a different room. She said the room couldn’t be cleaned and no other rooms were available. At this point we are extremely upset. Alex didn’t like our tone and asked us to leave the hotel property. We requested our money back and Alex said she couldn’t do that, only the manager could do it. We sat in the lobby for twenty minutes for the manager named Connor to arrive. Manager Connor told us that we can’t be rude to the hotel clerk. We asked for our money back and Manager Connor refused to return it and told us to leave the hotel. Unbelievable!! NEVER stay here!

We stayed this past weekend for a soccer tournament. We had to book through "Traveling Teams" but they booked us at a higher rate than I could get on my own, but we were staying with my daughter's team so I just dealt with it. When we checked in they were very confused and gave a room with a king sized bed. I went back to show them we were booked for 2 queen sized beds and they quickly got a new room for us. We went up to the room to take a break and about 2.5 hours later another family walked into our room. Fortunately we were not changing at this point. We all went downstairs to figure this out and they were very sorry and the other family was moved to another room. Great!!! All set now. My wife and I step out for dinner and our daughter goes for a swim with her team. Once she gets done her key no longer worked. So we change our dinner and make it to go and hurry back to get this figured out and hear plenty of excuses. After a short time they have it all figured out and we can now access our room again. The next day went fine, they clearly tried to avoid me as we came and went. Now 3 days later I check my charge card and they have charged us double and maybe plus some, but I can't say for sure. So anyway, we are (maybe were at this point) loyal to Hampton but we are certainly extremely disappointed with this one. Re-think your stay here.

We stayed here for a weekend with our soccer team for a tournament at GVSU. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The pool was a little small and there is not a hot tub, but the community area is great. We ordered in pizza and played board games. The staff was friendly and was overall a great stay.

Another great stay at a Hampton Inn by Hilton. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Even though I didn't use the TV, I noticed how it was slightly angled toward the bed, to make it easier to see while sitting on the bed. Little details like that let me know they care about the experience. Check-in was friendly, smooth and easy. Breakfast was decent but other days are probably better. Really like how they have bottles of shampoo, conditioner and soap in the showers. I'm sure this cuts down on waste. Only issue I found (it's a small one), and not something the staff can do about it because it was in the development stage, was the bathroom sink faucet does not stick out very far, which makes it challenging to wash your hands. Have seen this before in bathrooms. It's so much easier to wash your hands when you can fit your entire hands under the faucet easily. (See photo) This wouldn't stop me from staying with Hampton because the overall experience is always so good. One more feature that was new to me but really liked was leaving your key in a slot by the door to keep the lights on. This cuts down on wasteful electricity use if someone leaves the lights on when they leave the room. Nice touch that every hotel should start incorporating.
