Mt. Plaisir Estate Hotel

The hotel is sumptuous. With eco credentials, it is clean and so well maintained. Not a crack in sight (they are continuously making sure the hotel is looking impeccable), what stood out to us was the fantastic staff and the amenities. Yes, the location is quite rural so expect a 2 hour drive from the airport, but with that comes the ability to really enjoy the local culture, and tropical surroundings. Fantastic wildlife throughout, there’s an observation lodge where you can see the islands famous pawi, as well as hundreds of hummingbirds and butterflies. In addition to an idyllic location and spacious rooms with neutral interiors and extremely comfortable beds, comes the most AMAZING staff! Everyone is friendly and curteous, attentive to our needs and actually exceed them most of the time. We have adored everyone but had to do a special shout out to Alicia, Lisa, Camron, Simeon, Codesha and Candice. We have only just left and already miss them. We opted for the all inclusive option and what a good idea. the food was sumptuous. There’s a small buffet meaning not too much food wastage, but there’s also an a la carte menu should you not like anything on the buffet. Everything we had was absolutely delicious!!!! Simply put, we left less than 24 hours ago and already miss this magical place. As Richard says “you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend, return as family” and we will be sure to return.

Mt.Plaisir is the BEST hotel in Trinidad! The hospitality of the staff makes your experience truly unforgettable. The hotel is extremely clean and well-maintained. The food is 10/10. The rooms are cozy and well-equipped. Kayaking and the heated pool also made the stay really fun. The stay here is WORTH IT!!!

A charming, beautifully upgraded hotel with very helpful, pleasant staff. This hotel has great access to viewing the leatherback turtles laying eggs and their nesting site and of course, delicious dining options. The beach is breathtaking. Will definitely return!

The drive to get there was really long, we came from Port of Spain and spent 2.5 hours driving. However, the location is serene and peaceful, which is what we were hoping for. Their customer service was excellent and the servers were very friendly and accommodating. The environment was clean and the food was delightful. Despite the long drive, we will definitely return for a longer stay.

I enjoyed every minute of my stay. The view was amazing and relaxing. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and modern. The food was delicious with good portion sizes. The kayaking was a nice little adventure. I was very impressed with everything. Nice little getaway in Trinidad.

The newly renovated Mt. Plaisir Estate Hotel is now one of my favorite places to stay in Trinidad. This was the third time I have stayed in a year. Every time I go I take new people with me. The Turtle season is fantastic for those who have never witnessed these majestic animals in their natural habitat. My last visit was last week, out of the turtle season and I enjoyed it just as much. Service is excellent and the workers seem happy to be working there and helping guests. They go above and beyond what would normally be expected. the rooms are very comfortable with amenities created just for the resort by Galt and Maree (my favorite candle suppliers). The heated pool is relaxing and open 24 hours so a late night swim is not out of the question. Although the river is not very long and there is construction not too far from the mouth, it is a soothing easy kayak trip. The beach is also lovely for an early morning walk. I would highly recommend staying at the gem of a place to anyone looking to reset from the daily stresses of life.
