Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds. Very welcoming reception on our late arrival, bags taken to our room by really friendly staff. We visited as half board for a week. Absolutely not leaving a negative review as we will hopefully return! Would like to be helpful for potential guests. The hotel takes some getting used too to get around…. Easy once you’ve got your bearings and scenery is beautiful! Room- ours had the most wonderful view and that’s what counted the most for us (floor 6) The room did look a little old with the dark wood but it was perfectly comfortable, pillows could probably do with a renew as a little lumpy…. But nothing to ruin sleep! Room was cleaned well every day by such friendly housekeepers! Safe is free which is good as been in others and produced a bill at end of our stay. Shower was over a bath but very good. Downside I think for us was no kettle/ tea coffee making facility, I think if you upgrade you get this or you can pay for a kettle. As a 5 star I kind of expect that facility should be there and would be welcomed by us as a standard. Air con was great. Breakfast- chaotic…. Might just be me but nothing made sense where it was…. Felt like we wandering round for ages seeking a teapot…. Or a bowl…. Food quality for me didn’t match 5 star, there’s a fair enough selection however having stayed in other hotels I didn’t find it great. Omelettes were ok…. Depended if you had the friendly chef who was very happy and approachable or on our first two days a different one it was like we’d ruined his day and it was barely cooked… edible but not enjoyable! For us it was the chaos of needing to find cups or glasses and bowls that was a put off. Some may not find this an issue but I don’t really want to have to do 3 laps to get breakfast Dinner- we were very grateful to be offered to have food the on arrival as we were late, it was perfectly good. We went the next night and again chaos and nothing was very warm (that should be) good selection of salad and usual hotel buffet offerings. I think its personal taste. We then ate out the remaining nights! Lovely walk from hotel to Meloneras along coastal path, it’s about 20 minutes, a good paved path so suitable for all. There are some beautiful shops and fantastic restaurants when you get there, where eating out isn’t in our opinion over what it is worth, we thoroughly enjoyed Misbah Indian and spectacular meal twice at our favourite grand Italia! Also a fabulous meal at B-one. The resort of meloneras is wonderful for families and couples, it has really good vibe. For a different night we went to the yumbo and that was fab! Great pizza and enjoyed a show at Ricky’s! As a base we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, aware it has a lot of upgrade options with privilidge offering a lot more and booking through Tui that’s not easy to navigate. I think if you could arrange this when booking via your tour operator it would be easier and enhance the stay. Overall a wonderful stay and would return
