Drostdy Hotel

When staying in other accommodations that at home, I always want it to be just slightly better and more luxurious that at home. I would be looking at furnishings, elegance, comfort and professional and kind treatment and the general ambience. The Drostdy Hotel did not fall short of any.

This was our second stay at the Drostdy and we returned to Graaff Reinet not because it is a half way point between stops but because we were so taken with this glorious hotel. Once again we were welcomed by really friendly folk, given a much needed cool drink (way to early for a sherry) and dealt with quickly despite a tour group arriving at the same time. Our rooms were classic, old world style with every amenity we needed, the turndown service was exceptional whilst understated (so many places forget to check the next mornings coffee supply!), bar service was incredibly friendly and the restaurant food and service was superb. My only issue was that even on my second visit, I forgot to ask how you manage to make those pancakes at breakfast so fluffy. Presentation was amazing, taste was mindblowing. I would nighly recommend Drostfy and despite coming from the far North of Scotland and the middle of SA being a bit of a long haul, will make sure we return here.

A beautiful hotel with a true old-world feel to it. The rooms are beautiful and clean and feel luxurious. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times and I would stay here again and again.

A pleasant stay overall. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Lovely premises overall and comfortable lodgings. Dinner menu is rather limited.

We arrived here after we left Lesotho and this accomodation made as felt we went back in time with today's luxury! It was beautiful and we didn’t want to leave. The room was like a dream with a dreamy bed and very nice bathroom. We enjoyed every minute we spend here
