Such a disappointing stay. Aesthetically the hotel is gorgeous, but sadly the service, food and hotel finishing touches are not indicative of a 5 star hotel. I could write pages about the hotel, but to keep it as short as possible: FOOD The food was the most disappointing aspect - no fresh fruit (all tinned), poor breakfast buffet consisting of a poor quality hot breakfast (chip shop saveloy style sausages, cold beans and tinned mushrooms), no option to order any eggs to your liking (aside from an omelette) and juice that has been mixed with water. At lunch and dinner they served pasta with sauces that had been watered down and at dinner there was no salad bar, which meant you couldn't access any vegetables even if you wanted to! Reserving a place at the a la carte restaurants was almost impossible due to 'lack of availability', but when you arrive at the restaurants, there are no more than 12 tables set up and only 5 tables are in use at once. I hope this isn't a money saving tactic by the hotel, but it feels as though they aren't operating efficiently to ensure guests can dine at these restaurants. The food served at the Campiello restaurant was shocking - raw tuna starter arrived and was grey in colour (not pink/red as it should be if fresh) and the menu options for all inclusive were minimal. Service at the hotel was ok, some staff were welcoming and chatty, however some were stand-offish. You order your lunch and dinner via an app, so there was no charm or service, so it is hard to comment here. I also think for a 5 star hotel, to not have any table service (aside from the a la carte restaurants, where you could dine twice in your stay if you can get a booking) is not indicative of a 5 star resort. Drink options on the all inclusive menu were minimal and rooms came with no mini bar. There were no snacks available throughout the day, only meals/burger and chips at the pool bar. Only the main pool bar served food, so if you were at the second pool you would have to walk across the hotel to order and wait for your food. SUNBEDS We were not expecting for sunbeds to be reserved with towels at a 5 star hotel, however everyone at the hotel was reserving sun beds with towels from the early hours of the morning. We despise doing this, but found ourselves with no choice as otherwise we wouldn't have a sunbed for the day. We had to set an alarm every day of our holiday for 7:30am to get a sunbed, and even at this time there were towels on the majority of the beds. This could be stopped by the hotel, but it was not. Sunbeds were uncomfortable and had no cushions on them. THE ROOMS The rooms were lovely and always cleaned. We had a garden view room which has great views of the Corfu countryside, however these rooms are by the bin area and every night at 1am, the bins would be collected by a lorry and would wake us up. OVERALL If you are thinking about staying here, I wouldn't recommend. We are extremely chilled holiday goers and went to
