We made 3 attempts to get to Villa Margherita, twice our booking was cancelled due to the pandemic, third time lucky and it was worth the wait. From the booking process to departure nothing is too much trouble the team do their utmost to ensure you have a memorable time . We had an airport pick up arranged for us by the hotel very efficient, no waiting time at the airport and were greeted by smiles, water & sweets even at 10.30pm. Alfredo in the restaurant was very professional always made sure we had a nice table and the service was faultless, better than we experienced anywhere else on the island. 4 courses with 3 choices of each, the food was delicious we never normally chose to eat at a hotel restaurant but the food was too good not to. A lot of fish dishes which we loved. We chose a room with a whirl pool but would probably recommend a sea view on the higher levels as they have great harbour views. The garden and pool area is stunning drink service is available all day though a buzzer system, best Aperols in Sardinia. Drinks weren’t expensive by hotel standards, sunbeds were plentiful no problem getting a bed at 12pm, there are various walkable beaches with a couple of lovely beach bars worth the short walk. There’s a market on a Monday just outside the hotel area with some lovely dresses at great prices. Reception arranged a hire car at short notice it couldn’t have been any easier, car was delivered to the hotel when promised, no waiting around and when you’re done hand the keys in at reception and they do the rest, The reception staff are a joy ! Always a smile and chat about your day … my only gripe and it’s a small one is breakfast could be better. Limited hot food and a lot of pastries. Having said that I would highly recommend a visit the team are amazing, we will definitely return.
