Premier Inn Gloucester (Longford)

Unfortunately it’s not a great review the place looks really run down, there were holes in the curtains. No where to plug your toothbrush to charge. Coffee in the room was bland. The beds were very uncomfortable even my eldest said it was. Staff were great! I saw two ladies whilst staying they were very helpful, happy.

Friendly staff, comfortable room although a little on the small side. After our previous experience at a Premier Inn, I swore to never use again but circumstances made it necessary and it has gone some way to restoring my confidence in PI. In addition, I was a little wary, having read reviews on Trip Advisor (damp, mold, smells etc) but our room was fine. After our last experience, we chose not to eat at a Premier Inn, so cannot comment on meals.

Clean lovely little hotel- receptionist was so lovely, making sure if I wanted to have breakfast added on and if there was anything else needed. Room was cosy and the heating was great and quick to work. Was quite noisy in the day but understand the staff were cleaning and keeping up with the hotel maintenance.

Wifi not working, it’s annoying and a problem thats common with all premier inn hotels. Our room was small , wifi did not work and the upgrade to ultra did not work either. Support from virgin media did not exsist and the hotel is in a blind spot for mobile

I echo the review submitted by emcee 49. In fact we stayed over the same weekend. We have used this facility for many years so it was a bit of a shock that the pub had gone and was being used by Premier Inn to serve meals. The bar was open to guests from 5 pm, no good to us, we arrived at lunch time after travelling from London and would have appreciated the opportunity for a drink. Senior management need to take a good look at emcee 49 review which I fully support. We had booked a table for dinner at 7pm but the only staff member on duty apologised to us at 7.30pm that he was unable to delivery the service required due to the number of guests present and he was a one man band. We felt so sorry for him and could see the situation was unlikely to improve. We left by taxis to find an alternative option. We made a complaint to the manager the following morning, that evening he was on duty in the restaurant and the service was very good. I know further development will be taking place in the future with a breakfast facility within the hotel building. The manager offer a refund on the dinner, we hadn’t received and provided a complimentary drink with our dinner on the second evening. The room was very clean and we enjoyed two good nights sleep. Unfortunately the remainder of our stay didn’t reach our expectations and we were disappointed it’s been allowed to decline to that level. We couldn’t recommend staying at this facility at present and we will certainly avoid it until the construction work as been completed and the facility is properly staffed.

The rooms were small, but clean, modern and comfortable as you would expect from a Prem Inn. A group of 11 were visiting for an event at Hartpury, had spent a good few hours travelling and we were looking forward to having a couple of drinks and some food before bed. However, we were surprised to find that the bar/restaurant area was being staffed by only one man...and what a man he was. With other families and workmen also wanting feeding and watering, Maxwell was unflappable as he took orders, served the food and drinks and calmly explained the situation. Our table was booked for 1930 but we didn't eat until gone 9 as one man can only do so much. He was later joined by the equally excellent La, who was manning reception and then running across to the restaurant to assist Maxwell with serving the food. We left around 10pm, arrived for breakfast at 7am to again find Maxwell holding the fort again, on his own, fresh as a daisy. We all agreed that it was utterly ridiculous that on a night when the hotel was full, Premier Inn are expecting one man (plus chef) to run the bar while the receptionist is sprinting back and forth across the car park to check people in and serve food. Whatever you are paying Maxwell and La needs to be doubled and we would all like them to be personally thanked by management for the job they did by going above and beyond to rescue the reputation of Premier Inn.
