Glenapp Castle

Called me a week in advance. Asked me if I was celebrating a special occasion (our 10 year anniversary)... Also, if we had any allergies. Great. After arrival, no mention of anniversary again!? - why ask then? Check in great. Place is beautiful. Facade of castle fromoutside a little tired, After checking into room, noticed a fly and insect infestation in bathroom. Informed management They took pictures. Nothing done or followed up. Dinner outstanding, the service is amazing and the staff really are well trained. Almost too much! (007 like with their earphones!). Returned to room in evening, TV not working. To their credit manager brought another TV - however it's 10.30pm now. Still nothing done about insects (it won't let me upload videos, only pics which doesn't show the infestation properly). We're from Scotland, so understand flys and midges can be a nuisance, this was an infestation though! Breakfast 10/10, again top notch service. Credit to theirstaff. Went for a walk around grounds. Lovely. On checkout, no mention of issues. Dinner and wine came to £200+ and the overnight stay £300+ For a romantic, overnight experience. To fork out almost £600, I was not impressed. l'm disappointed. I expected big things from this place - we'd been wanting to come here for a long time. Informed hotel of our feedback on checkout survey. It's been a week, still not heard from them. Sadly, we won't be returning

This was the best stay we've ever had in the UK. The staff are so genuinely nice, friendly and helpful and not in a trained way but in a very genuine and charming way. Laura met us by our car and was so friendly and helpful. She checked us in, showed us around and to our rooms and was a perfect start to the visit. Ewan was fantastic looking after us for our pre dinner drink and food orders etc and was great to chat with. Benjamin the Operations Manager came to talk with us a few times to find out about us and ensure everything was perfect for us, like his colleagues he was great fun as well as totally professional. The food, rooms, grounds, activities, etc etc etc are perfect but I want to especially compliment the staff including those I didn't get the names of. All 4 of us absolutely loved our visit to Glenapp.

We visited Glenapp for two nights as part of a honeymoon trip around Scotland and had a faultless and amazing experience at this incredible hotel. The welcome we received was fantastic, lovely and knowledgable staff and nothing is too much trouble. Dinner was really good and we enjoyed the pre-dinner cocktails and canapés which were delicious. We tried an afternoon tea too on our second day which was equally delicious. We felt thoroughly spoiled by the team here and really recommend a stay here.

There are many adjectives one could use to describe Glenapp Castle, amazing, phenomenal, stunning and spectacular. While each adjective is correct, none of them accurately depicts what it feels like to stay at this remarkable hotel. From the moment you enter through the gates, you're brought back in time to a world where only Julian Fellowes could showcase on the silver screen, but with you playing the leading role. From the warm reception upon arrival to the greetings from the discreet staff saying hello as you pass by in the halls, to the delightful and charming waitstaff throughout dinner and breakfast the next day, the management team at Glenapp have assembled a truly wonderful staff -- and although, the rooms were exquisite, the decor lovely, and the food scrumptious, it was the people who work at Glenapp who made it exceedingly hard to depart. They were the perfect introduction to my Scottish adventure and I can't wait to go back.

Absolutely perfect in every way. Credit to the staff team, they are an absolute joy. Nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful surroundings, delicious food, diverse range of activities to partake in. Definitely recommended, we shall certainly be visiting again!

This is a luxury destination. A beautiful castle on beautiful grounds. Many activities are offered (we chose the falconry interaction experience which I highly recommend.) Very friendly staff and great meals in a top notch restaurant. However, Glen App Castle is not perfect. It is located in a beautiful, isolated location. (You can judge if that is a plus or minus). The restaurant is great but a casual option may be appriciated. Put it all together and you will be happy here. Go.
