There is a welcoming front porch, screened-in balcony (overlooking Palm Bay and Elizabeth Harbor), and a sundeck with lounge chairs.Plenty of space with decor designed for all the comforts of home. The extra large chef-inspired kitchen is loaded with everything you need to cook and enjoy meals. The home can accommodate up to 10 guests; the primary bedroom is on the second floor with a king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom. There are three bedrooms on the first floor; two with queen-sized beds and another with custom-made dual bunkbeds with XL-twin mattresses. The family room has a large sectional couch and Smart TV for those relaxing evenings watching your favorite streaming shows. The walk down to Hideaways and the beach is only 2-3 minutes; Palm Bay Beach is often shallow and calm with great snorkeling along the rock formations. Palm Bay Beach is also a short 5-6 minute walk along the beach to Jolly Hall Beach (one of our favorites).For your comfort, each bedroom has its own AC unit which is remote controlled. The ideal temperature settings are around 72-73 degrees. Its okay to lower to 70 degrees at night in each bedroom; but please turn off when leaving the house for the day. Each floor also has large AC units which should remain on at 73-74 degrees during the day (please turn off at night). When departing for home, please leave these larger units on but set the temperature to 76 degrees and all bedroom units should be turned off. Most rental homes show a slice of ocean but are very few provide this amazing view.THE BEACH: Summit Exuma is located a short walking distance from the best calm water swimming beach on Great Exuma, Jolly Hall Beach. • With its powder white sand and shallow water, the beach looks like a “Corona commercial” almost every day. There are many beautiful beaches on Exuma, but most of them are exposed to direct wind and waves. While the others provide calm water 30% of the time, Jolly Hall Beach is calm and flat 95% of the days.• A small, unmarked path was created to allow access for visitors. All beaches in the Bahamas are public and accessible to everyone.• Jolly Hall Beach cannot be seen from the road and therefore is not highly frequented, nor is it touristy. The family that owns the land obliges us with a path… but there is no sign promoting it. Jolly Hall Beach looks exactly as it did 50 years ago and likely will look the same in another 50 years. That’s just fine with us. While most pictures of rental homes on Exuma feature photos of calm ocean water, the reality is that the water is rough 2/3 of the time on Exuma. That is a big deal when planning your activities for your time on vacation. Therefore, finding spots with consistently calm water is paramount. On mainland Exuma, there are only a few choices, with the best being Jolly Hall Beach. Jolly Hall Beach is located down the hill and left 300 yards. The ½ mile beach is protected by surrounding islands and shoals from the prevailing winds and waves and therefore delivers a fantastic swimming experience almost every day. Once your toes hit the sand, a short walk down the beach will take you to one of the best beaches on Exuma - Jolly Hall. The SandBox has a large bedroom with a king bed and full private bathroom. The living room has a comfortable queen Murphy bed (which can be pulled down for a snooze or lifted for extra space), as well as a couch. A second full bathroom is just off the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped for making meals. Amenities include the use of the resort pool, work out facility, paddleboards, kayaks, an on-site restaurant, shuttle to George Town, free parking, and more. Wifi is also included. Water taxi’s and boat rentals are available in George Town so you can enjoy the beauty of Exuma.
