Oh boy, do they try to impress you on paper! I booked this as they spoke about the great neighborhood and 5 star ratings. I'm being generous with my 2 stars. The hotel looks good, once you manage up the steep hill and broken sidewalks to get here from the Mosaic Museum, until you see all the barbed wire around the perimeter, like a prison. I had reached out to the hotel twice for directions, they obviously don't check their emails or resevation comments. None of staff speak more than a few words of English. Oh, their fancy pool that they advertise isn't open, despite the warm temps. The neighborhood looks like a war zone with crumbled walls and poverty living, there are no restaurants nearby and I wouldn't walk these dark streets at night. My only option was the hotel restaurant, several reviews were less than complimentary about it and I agree. Only a QR code menu, numerous things not offered like a single glass of wine or Gaziantep's famous lamacun. And, when I got my bill, as others have discovered, they overcharged me for my food. It tasted good, but not for what they tried to stick me for. I'm extremely disappointed as I thought this would be a real treat to myself, this place has a lot of changes to make to be considered a 5 star.
