River Edge Inn

This hotel is the biggest catfish I’ve ever fallen for! It is definitely the dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed without going back to the front desk and demanding a refund. All the doors open to the parking lot like a motel 6. There is one elevator but it’s so tiny we could not ride with 4 people plus stroller. There are no “views” so don’t fall for the photos that look pretty. The river is across the street from the hotel. All the walkways on the floors are poorly patched cement and have mini potholes. The room was just as disappointing. Every corner was covered in dirt and dust. Our sink was clogged. The balcony was covered with rust and mold from the leaky AC and had obviously never been cleaned. There were cobwebs on every light fixture and stains on all the shades. There was a muddy footprint on the wall near the ceiling where I can only assume someone used a shoe to kill a bug. The white sheets had dark fuzz or lint all over them which I chose to believe is from washing but worried all night was because they had not been washed. The shampoo had not been refilled since the last stay which also made me feel uneasy that the room had not been cleaned. There was heavy water damage in the room that had warped the trim and the drywall but they had not repaired it, and just tried to paint over it. All of the caulk and grout in the bathroom was cracked so I’m sure there was mold issues that they keep just painting over. The exhaust fan in the bathroom has likely never been cleaned and was full of dust and the plastic housing was melted like it had overheated. The only redeeming thing about this whole room was they use bath and body works eucalyptus soaps so after the shower I smelled clean although I still felt dirty. I cannot believe they had the nerve to charge over $200 a night for this place! I will never return

Great hotel in Gatlinburg. It is one block off the *****. Close to the action but quiet at night. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. The outside of the building is basic, but the rooms inside are excellent. Clean, mattresses are new and very comfortable, bedding is very nice. Lots of pillows, with different choices of firmness. Fire place is easy to use. Easy online check in. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

Avoid this place at all costs! The pictures online look great and some mention the rooms are "updated" but do not let that fool you. My room was we disgustingly dirty; there was hair and debris on the floor as if the floor hadn't been cleaned, him on the ceiling, more hair on the bed sheets AND black mold with standing water next to the bed! I spoke to Rebecca, the manager and she denied a refund for the room, stating that I could've just switched rooms..why would I want to stay in a place whose standards are so low in the first place? Needless to say I was put off by the cleanliness standard of the hotel. On the phone I was spoken to very rudely by Rebecca, gaslighted, called a liar (even with pictures and videos proving the condition of the room) and was hung up on several times.

The beds were so comfortable. The place isn’t a four star place but the people in the front were nice NO BED BUGS! and very comfortable. Pool is on the smaller side. Was in walking distance to everything but off the beaten path too so we didn’t hear all the night life lol

We just visited for our anniversary and this hotel is our new favorite place. It’s a great location and walking distance to everything. Carolyn and the staff were all so nice and we are looking forward to our next stay already!

We stayed at the River Edge Gatlinburg during labor day weekend. Rooms were very spacious, clean and had comfy beds. the hotel sits back a couple of roads of the main street and was easy walking distance to everything Gatlinburg offers, but a the same time it was not noisy and had great mountain views. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. Carolyn, in particular, was amazing. She made sure every aspect of our stay was flawless, and her friendly, professional demeanor made a significant difference. we will definitely choose this hotel for our future stays. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a great experience.

This quaint hotel was a nice surprise. We had never stayed here before and really enjoyed our stay. While the room did not get as cool as I would’ve preferred, I can’t let that take away from the rooms. Updated bathrooms, comfortable beds, and nice balconies. The rooms and balcony are clean. Would definitely stay here again. Plus the pet friendly option is a bonus. Out fur baby had the best time.

Stayed for several nights. Close to the SMNP entrance and within walking distance to most of downtown Gatlinburg. Check in was easy, desk staff was always friendly. We stayed in the family suite which was extremely clean and had plenty of room. Full sized fridge in large kitchen area with cooking/dining utensils and pots and pans if u wanted to cook your own food. Large balcony area overlooking the pool. Pool area was clean. The maintenance guy prepped and cleaned the pool area every morning. I constantly saw him around the property cleaning. There is a small grab n go breakfast and coffee in the morning. My only suggestion would be to repave some of the walkways but no big deal. Great place overall.

Upon arrival, the check in process was quick and easy and staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was well appointed and clean. Although we didn’t use it the pool looked clean and inviting, and I enjoyed having the private balcony. We down for Jeep invasion and was surprised when we were ducked by one of the staff. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend
