The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort, Costa Navarino

The Romanos property at Costa Navarino is absolutely spectacular. From the beautiful setting and surrounding, to the incredible staff, you will just love every second being there. My family and I have spent multiple vacations here and we just keep coming back year after year. The landscaping along with all of the beautiful trees, plants and flowers will be a breath of fresh air. The property is absolutely spotless. Modern and up to date. You are greeted by every single member of their team with a kind and welcoming smile. The food selection at Romanos is fantastic, covering every culinary category. The breakfast buffet at Pero is one of the best you will ever encounter. The entire staff is amazing, particularly Maria who is originally from Chicago, and will make you feel like one of the family. The beach will add peace and serenity to your entire being.

A great resort. We have visited a few time and it is better every time. The service is excellent, the room spacious, the breakfast top notch and the pools beaches and entertainment and food options fantastic. Highly recommended. I had an incident though that almost ruined my experience and i want to share it for feedback. My 3 year old kid has type 1 diabetes and we needed to keep some of his medication/insulin frozen and the room's fridge does not have a freezer. So i went at the the bar / restaurant and they were very willing to keep then frozen for us - but as they would open at 6pm the following day and i might not had access in the morning the suggested i ask reception so i would have access at all time. At reception the young man was a complete A..HOLE who didnt want to help. After spending 5 mins on the phone to somenone he said: "Its the hotel policy to not accept any medicines for safekeeping" and suggested i keep them in the fridge in the room. When I replied that it has no freezer - he shrugged his shoulders and said "well there is nothing I can do" continuing "we dont have freezers at the reception" and his only concern was for us to go away and leave him alone as he didnt want to help. I was furious at these responses so I asked my wife to deal with this as i would have been very rood, and after she explained that it wasnt medicine the other people in the reception suggested that they could send a freezer in the room - which was done. I was furious - as this was not a hospitality request such as i want out of season strawberries - but a request for help at a human level for the health of my child. A request that every single taverna, gas station or random person in the street would help with. The level of indifference and luck of empathy as a human that this manager exhibited should ban this person for life from any profession that requires empathy let alone hospitality. It really almost ruined the entire experience and the hard work his other coworkers put in. I also tried to share this with hotel and they sent a 20 year old from guest relations to yes me off - they couldnt care less is the feeling i got.

We stayed at Romanos for 10 nights in June. The balcony room with seaview was spacious with all facilites and good housekeeping and we were delighted with that. The staff were all excellent, especially the buggy drivers and waiters. The pools were very good, especially the Eleon pool for adults only. However we were disappointed with the food. On half board, we had a choice of 7 restaurants. The Lebanese, Greek and Seafood restaurants had basic HB set menus that were poor and not up to 5 star standard. The Italian and buffet restaurants were quite good but the Italian was so popular you had to book several days in advance. We were also disappointed that the hotel allowed a 4 day corporate event to take place in peak season. This meant that the hotel was overrun by several hundred British women noisily celebrating their sales success. All the pools were closed except the Eleon which was then filled with children. Several restaurants were closed and all guests were seriously inconvenienced. We should have been warned when booking. The beach was not special with no prettiness or scenic views to it. It had coarse gritty sand and a steep slope into the water. The waves were quite strong during our stay. Most Marriotts and 5 star hotels have a weekly managers cocktail party for guests to meet each other and the management but not the Romanos. Also 5 star hotels usually offer a free cocktail before dinner but not the Romanos. Overall we have stayed at many Marriotts and 5 star hotels but we will not be returning to this one. We recommend avoiding the Half Board option.

We stayed at this hotel with high expectations, as it presents itself as a luxury destination. During our visit, we expressed interest in organizing a celebration there in 2026 and requested to meet with someone from the events team. Unfortunately, the experience left us feeling dismissed and disappointed. Despite booking a Calendly meeting, no one showed up. We followed up by email but received no response. It felt as though our request wasn’t taken seriously – almost as if it was being treated as a joke. This is not the level of professionalism or attentiveness one expects from a hotel of this supposed standard. Luxury is not just about decor or amenities – it’s also about service, respect, and follow-through. Sadly, those were missing in our case.

A very disappointing experience at what is supposed to be a “luxury” hotel. We came for a relaxing family stay, but there was a private event with extremely loud music lasting until 23:00, making it impossible to rest. Our six-month-old baby was literally jumping on the bed because of the noise. When I went to reception to ask for the official complaint book (which, under Greek law, all hotels are required to keep available for guests), they said they didn’t have it. Refusing to provide it is actually against local regulations and shows a complete lack of respect for guests’ rights. There was no advance notice about the event, no effort to accommodate affected guests, and no solution offered other than dismissive responses. If you value rest, respect, or basic customer service, I strongly recommend reconsidering staying here.

This is the second time we visit this resort. Our first visit last year was a 5/5. This year it's 1000/5. The entire team are incredibly kind. I wish I knew how they recruited, trained, retained such amazing staff. The resort is fantastic, to say the least. This trip, a special shout out to a truly sincere and kind supervisor - Mrs Efi Koutova. She's sincere and always tries to make sure guests are smiling. She stood out and I really appreciated her efforts this trip. Our family had an amazing time. The water slides, bowling, beach, pools, food, vibe, cleanliness... All truly 5/5
