Hotel Villa Capri

The rooms at Hotel Villa Capri are attractive and comfortable. We had a view of the lake with a balcony, which was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, as was the server who brought us lunch. The hotel does not serve dinner. If you bring food into your room, make sure you have your own silverware and/or wine glasses as the staff will not provide them. We were told it is against hotel policy.

I stayed here with my partner in a deluxe for a week. Overall we were delighted with our choice, not top-end luxury, but definitely 'understated quality'. The main pluses were the location - we walked extensively along the road in both directions and didn't see another property that seemed to have the same ratio of lake frontage to hotel size, and certainly not with the depth of frontage to the lake shore, meaning the garden space was extensive with plenty of space for lounging without feeling that you were invading others' space; and the food quality. The only disappointments were that the hotel didn't have a dinner service, and the competition for the few quality loungers by the pool. it wasn't quite as bad as the stories I've read from Costa del Hell, but there was a tendency for people to lay claim with towels and possessions, then disappear for breakfast, or large chunks of the day. Maybe a few more of the cushioned loungers would prevent this, or at least reduce it. Our room was large, and very clean. The bed was a king size with separate mattresses, and though a bit hard for me, my partner loved it. Pillows were good. The bathroom was a fair size with an over-bath shower and shower screen. Toiletries were provided, as were towels for the pool, on top of a daily change of bath sheets. The aircon was adequate, I've certainly known better, and the wifi was similarly sedate rather than urban high-speed, but it was fine for my purposes, and I was able to stream a live football match with only very minor buffering: not much worse than I'd have in the UK. Breakfast was a highlight, with various options for sitting at the lake's edge, or under the canopies by the hotel across the lawn from the lake - still afforded an exquisite view. The food choice was standard for a hotel of this quality, catering to a wide European palate, but it was a full buffet. Maybe a few more places on the tops to leave a tray whilst filling a plate, bowl or cup would help, otherwise balancing skills of which a circus performer wold be proud are helpful. One daily amusement was the toaster - try as we may we never got our bread more tanned than wold have been possible with SPF50 on a cloudy day: we settled for hot, very dry, and crispy. Another coffee machine might also reduce the occasional queue, but overall the long service (7:30-10:15) means that it was never busy, and rarely more than half-a-dozen or so people loading their plates and trays at any one time, The gardens are extensive, though there is some noise from the road, this is not overly intrusive, certainly if you sit in front of the hotel. Planting makes for areas of both direct sun and good shade. The waiter roams the lawn taking orders, and there are more than enough loungers to go around - as I said previously, even better if a few of these were a bit more comfortable. What a fantastic hotel. Our room was beautiful, overlooking the pool & lake, immaculately clean with lovely fluffy towels and an enormous, comfortable bed. Great shower and clean towels every day. I loved the ‘beach bag’ with pool towels in that had your room number on it - nice touch and very practical. You could access the lake from the garden, just a short ladder climb down. There was a huge choice at breakfast with delicious fresh fruit and pretty much anything you could think of. There were lots of Sun beds on the lawn and a really relaxed atmosphere with plenty of bar staff available for you to order drinks. We had lunch one day on the terrace overlooking the lake which was delicious. They serve snacks until 7.30pm but the town centre is only a 10 minute walk away with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants for an evening meal. The best bit about this hotel is the staff. They were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Just the right balance between being available but not hovering. Everyone from the reception staff to the restaurant/bar staff were lovely. We had contacted them beforehand about airport transfers which they arranged for us and made restaurant reservations for us while we were there. We will definitely be back!

Great small quality hotel, friendly and helpfull staff, great location directly to the vater front. Our room were clear and nice with a fantastic view directly to the Garda see. Breakfast were outstandig with all that you could wish for.

Vor 9 Jahren haben wir diese Boutique Hotel entdeckt und seitdem fast jedes Jahr für mindestens eine Woche zurückgekehrt. Um es vorweg zu sagen: wer einen anonymen 5 Sterne Standard sucht (Schicki-Micki Luxus, „Wellness“ den man dann noch maximal aus Langeweile nutzt etc. ) ist hier fehlt am Platz. Der wahre Luxus hier ist Privacy und ein persönlicher Service. Der große Garten direkt am See macht die Villa Capri einzigartig: keine dichtgedrängten Sonnenschirme wie in Rimini. Überhaupt keine Schirme, da die alten Bäume quasi eine natürliche Klimaanlage sind, Kühle und Schatten den ganzen Tag spenden, für den, der es mag. Das Hotel hat viele Stammgäste, international, die diese Vorzüge alle schätzen. Zimmer: ja, sie sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber groß, tip top in Schuss und alle mit einem unbeschreiblichen Seeblick, natürlich Balkon. Verpflegung: das Hotel ist Garni+, d.h. Frühstück, eine kleine feine Mittagskarte, kein Abendessen. Und das ist gut so. Die Dichte sehr guter oder hervorragender Restaurants in unmittelbarer Umgebung ist sehr hoch. Halbpension wäre eine Strafe für den Gast! Der Leser merkt, wir sind totale Fans dieses besonderen Hotels. Natürlich lässt sich immer etwas verbessern, z. B. eine moderate Überholung der Zimmer, eine gemütlicher eingerichtete Bar. Aber das war es schon. Mehr würde den Charme und den Luxus der Unaufgeregtheit und die Privacy zerstören. Dann würden wir dem Gardasee wahrscheinlich öfter den Rücken kehren. Ach ja, noch zum Schluss: Parkplatzprobleme gibt es auch bei voll belegtem Hotel keine: es gibt genügend direkt am Hotel (abgeschlossen).

Hotel ideale per una vacanza di relax! Camera ampia e pulita con un ampio terrazzo con vista lago. Colazione abbondante e varia, con la possibilità di consumarla a bordo piscina o su una fantastica terrazza direttamente sul lago. Personale premuroso e gentile.
