The most beautiful boutique hotel. rooms are very comfortable, the pool is stunning, the design and decor beautifully done. very close to Galle fort but nice to be hidden away from the busy tourist area. great cocktails and food. Hope to be back soon.

This is an absolute gem of a hotel. Only 8 rooms and an oasis of calm very close to Galle centre. We only had the standard rooms but they were perfect. Very cosy with high quality bed linen and a very comfortable night’s sleep. Breakfast was a La carte and of a high quality. Service was excellent and we loved the little pool area for relaxing. Staying in this delightful historic villa was a highlight of our trip.

My favourite hotel in Sri Lanka! Why? Because this colonial hotel is just stunning. The new owners created a small paradise. There is beauty everywhere you look: the architecture, the soulful interior decoration with antiques, lovely fabrics, beautiful details (from the lamps to the doorknobs), the garden, the swimming pool, the courtyard, our bedroom (Taprobane), the perfect linen, the bath on the balcony, even the food is beautiful… and delicious! All members of the staff are very kind and the manager is super efficient, helpful and dedicated to the clients. It is a few minutes away from the Fort on a calm hill. Perfect location! If you like small charming comfortable super well maintained boutique hotels… don’t look for another place! I could definitely live here and totally recommend the Sun House.

A lovely tranquil hotel beautiful setting on a hill above Galle a 10 minute walk Manager was very welcoming and super helpful all the staff were lovely and friendly we had dinner both nights of our stay excellent and breakfast al a carte fresh fruits and nice choice best coffee hot with hot milk wonderful would recommend very special experiences Thank you to all the staff Jurgen

Our 3 night stay was both relaxing and enjoyable. We love this type of small boutique hotel in a historic house and the new owners have done both a superb restoration job and put an experienced hotel manager in place. All of this makes a huge difference so ignore older, negative reviews. We stayed in the Dumas room which has a balcony to enjoy the morning birds and monkeys. Honestly, with a Merlin app, a cup of Dilmah tea and binoculars you can nature watch here in comfort and style. We saw that our options for Galle were modern, soulless places, the central hotels in former industrial buildings or walauwas some distance outside of Galle. Here you have the best of both worlds : a 10 minute walk or 500 LKR tuk into Galle Fort plus gardens, nature, character and a tranquil swimming pool. A big shout out for Chef Yasotharon's Arrack tasting Menu. It was the best meal of our 18 day trip and so special. We had several courses of delicious local dishes paired with arrack or cocktails of arrack and each explained beautifully. The food is to die for. There are great options for dinner in Galle but I can see why many guests in recent reviews chose to eat and drink in house. It was lovely to meet owner Sunny and a huge congratulations to all the team at Sun House, Galle. A top choice for this area. from Una and David.

We loved the SunHouse, the heritage ambience with the comfort and efficiency of a modern hotel. It was close to town but away from the hustle and bustle perfect location The Manager was welcoming and attentive to our needs. The food was the highlight, it was the best in our 2 week stay in Sri Lanka Highly recommended
