Nice staff. Complimentary breakfast is modest but good quality. Clean rooms and warm shower with Dove products. Convenient stay as it is near to good restaurants as well. You can park your car without extra fee.

On 1st impression, the guy at desk at check-in a little scary looking w/ beard, etc., but he was great and welcoming. I shouldn't judge a book by its cover! My bad. There were no Diamond upgrades. Unlike previous HIE, just a key card folder with keys and no mention of Diamond Benefits. We were given points-500 worth about $3 based on my historical calculations? No choices-just told we got points! The room was a typical HIE King Standard. We were given a room on a high floor away from the elevator per my IHG profile. The TV got many channels, including all Atlanta local ones, so a plus there compared to our previous night at HIE south of Atlanta? Our view was of the parking lot and Buffalo Wings next door. Only real perk for being Diamond: 1) dedicated parking space...Whoopie! We were not offered a choice for snack/bottled water! One thing missing in room was coffee station, but we were warned at check-in about such. This is prime example of their cost cutting/inconvenience to guests! On day in between our 2 nights, room was very well cleaned with restocked towels. Where this location really failed was breakfast: From IHG web site: Indulge in all your breakfast* favorites complete with fresh, hot, healthy, and kid-friendly options to fuel you for the day ahead. My understanding from HIE promotion over past decade was that there would be something hot and healthy: egg white omelets, turkey sausage, etc. but NONE here! I don't think HIE has lowered its standards back to those like Hampton Inn? Breakfast: On day #1, I pointed out lack of healthier items such as egg white omelets and turkey sausages. Front desk manager, Margaret, heard (or was told by staff) my complaints. She said they have what is required at Holiday Inn Express! I pointed out that HIE was known for offering 1 or more healthier items as compared to Hampton Inn? They had bare minimum in hot items: cheese omelets, sausage gravy w biscuits, and pork sausage links. (No potatoes or scrambled eggs either) Juice machine, which includes tap water, was broken. I'm surprised that they didn't say they sell bottled water at front desk, but front desk lady had them put out jug of lemon water, which makes me gag! I took coffee cup back to area near pool and got water from water fountain there! Not the best tasting water but NO lemon! They also put some juices out, but I didn’t pay attention since fruit juice has very high sugar. A few pastries and bread slices plus a few pieces of fruit. Day 2 breakfast was about the same with pork sausage patties instead.(and juice/water machine working) IHG Corporate would expect more than the basics, especially since this location and most in this part of state charge inflated rates due to tourist areas nearby! Despite their minimum, it still exceeded the worst Hampton Inn breakfast ever a few years ago at the Gainesville location. I wonder if they are owned/managed by same people? I guess it's back to Hilton Gar

My wife and I spent four days at this hotel while we had work being done on our house. Margaret, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. We got a very good rate for our stay and the room was well maintained. Our rooms was quiet and the location of the hotel was in the heart of the business district in Gainesville. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

OH the staff!!! I love them! I fell bad for the front lady working because their fire alarm was going off due to a sprinkler or something busting and they were doing their best to accommodate all of us. The girl at the front was on the phone with what I over heard her boss, it was about 11:45am and she checked me in the night before around 11pm. She was helping apologizing and talking all at the same time with a smile on her face. I'm not sure how she was so warming when she was going threw this yes MESS! I was behind a lady who was rude to her as she was trying to take care of what seemed like a billion things at one time. She kept apologizing and this lady said your so rude you could at least have the audacity to apologize that's all I wanted. At that point her face went to a omg kind of thing and she kindly replied ma'am I am sorry and we are trying very hard to get this taken care of. How can I assist you or may I take your information so that when everything calms down we can adjust your rate and again I am so sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you. The rude lady said maybe I should just call corporate instead. This girl was like if that is what you would like I can get the number for you if needed. This apparently made the lady mad and she goes off on this poor girl. OMG this girl looks and says this. I am so sorry that the fire sprinkler froze and busted but I am more then happy to refund you for last night and I will cancel the rest of your stay so you can check out by 12pm as a courtesy late check out and I hope you have a blessed day. The lady's mouth dropped and she said she didn't want to check out she just wanted an apology... The thing this front desk associate was doing from the get go. I started laughing because her comments were professional and polite and she got the best of someone who was going threw the same issue at her house and didn't understand that hotel's have water pipes to that can freeze! This is why the hotel was packed because pretty much everyone that was checked in here was because their pipes had frozen or busted!! The whole point of this review is that the front desk lady stayed calm and apolgized profusely to every single guest that she came encountered with including me and my wife. Thank you to people like her who still have common curtsey and true hospitality. She handled herself and the guest like a decant human being and made sure to take care of us!! Thank you again for the great stay and Kattie keep up the good work and doing what you do!

Wow! Check in at 2am due to a flight delay..... your worse nightmare right???? WRONG!!! Katy was alert happy and wow not use to exceptional service at that time. I'm use to blan id payment.... not her she was all hey good morning! How was your trip? Oh ur diamond..... dang u live with us!!! Giggled a little bit thanked me for my loyalty.... doesn't happen often... did ask for mu last name with id (standard) but just didn't feel like a regular i have better things to do then help you check in! That made my flight seem less stressed! Then in the morning tim/tom not sure the name but he was polite greeted me and held polite not wasting his time conversation. Then is lady walked before even greeting the front desk guy she said hello good morning and how are you? Its been a few months since I have had such a warm welcome and day. Its refreshing Keep up the hospitality it refreshing for stressed travlers!

Our car overheated on 7/15 we were not sure when it would be repaired. This was a stressful time, but the hotel staff worked with us each day to ensure that we had the same room to stay in. Margaret Mickle, the General Manage, was so supportive and helped us join the IHG group so that we had late checkout and a better rate. Janie supervisor of the cleaning staff, deserves the Queen of Clean award she received from corporate. She supports herstaff and they pass the support and kindness on to the guests. They did everything to help us during our unplanned five day stay. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and restful. The rooms are almost soundproof and the blackout curtain is the best we have seen in all our hotel stays. Heather, the person who prepares the breakfast during the week, changes the menu a little each day and keeps everything spotless. And I love the Bunn coffee maker. This hotel deserves the highest award available 👌

I had to relocate while work was being done on our house. It was a stressful time but my stay at HIE made everything easier. The room was perfect- comfy bed, plenty of amenities, and the best shampoo I've found in years. Breakfast was delicious and even the day I slept in, there was plenty to be had. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the GM, Margaret, couldn't have been kinder. They really are the gold standard in lodgings and hospitality. I always recommend them to anyone planning on visiting Gainesville.

What a nice hotel. Great parking, pleasant staff and great room. So clean and spacey. The water pressure was great with shampoo, conditioner and soap available. The breakfast was great - so much to chose from. They also offer a discount to family members that have someone at NE Medical Center which was wonderful. Thanks so much. Highly recommended.

Holiday Inn Express Lake Lanier Gainseville recently hosted some guys from my church for a conference we attended in Gainesville. The staff went above and beyond to make sure all the reservations were handled correctly! Great breakfast! Clean rooms!
