Worst hotel/hostel of my life. We booked a triple room for two people. Once we arrived, we discovered the the room they given us was a double. I went right away to ask explanation at the reception and their response was "you only paid for two person so you can only have a double room". After "arguing" with the receptionist for a while, he finally gave us the room that we paid for. The room was old with ants on the wall. During the night, at 2am to be precise, someone starts to banging on our door: it was the receptionist. He started to try to open the door (that luckily was closed from the inside) and shout at us threat like "I will call the police" for no apparent reason. We tried to comunicate with him but he kept shouting and theathing us. At one point the receptionist "calmed down" and said "wrong room" without any apologies. Of course from now on we couldn't sleep anymore. Would not recommend to anyone. Rude and threatening staff, old and dirty rooms. Did not feel safe in this hotel.

I would say only one word: everything was excellent. The location, the cleanliness, the very warm welcome from Mr. Alberto Ornelas. The price is the best in Funchal. The establishment is not a luxury of course but I prefer this unique experience because for authentic people it is the immersion of an insular and authentic Portugal, it is the soul of the history of simplicity and the smile. The pensions are a heritage to be preserved and I hope that the authorities will instill a protection plan. Mr. Ornelas is a very experienced local and he speaks English perfectly and he captivates you with kindness and deep know-how and he is ready to give you the most for the best plans in Madeira. Personally for me this address is fixed and I will return there every time I am there.

We stayed there only for two nights as have been exploring the North of the Island this time. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. The hotel is centrally located, within the walk-in distance to the beach, the old town, supermarkets and bus stops - very convenient. There’s a cool roof terrace with a view across the charming streets of Funchal. But the real asset of this place is the staff - so friendly, helpful, chatty - thank you, all, for your hospitality and a warm welcome.

The location is fantastic. A very quiet street. Very clean room. Just a short walk to the centre and the old town. I would have liked a fridge though if it was summer!There is no 24 hour on reception! . You get a code to get in!it was fine for my budget stay. The bar across the road is lovely!. The domesique is awaiting a refurbishment!

Small, hot room with bugs. No possibility to open the window becuase of the street noise. Additionally, problem with toilet which made the room smelly. Very expensive comparing to the quality. I strongly don't recommend!

Por incrível que pareça não tenho 1 defeito a apontar. Quem vê os comentários antes de cá vir ficaria de pé atrás como eu Porém ainda bem que gosto sempre de ver com meus próprios olhos. Melhor situado seria impossível tendo em conta q estamos perto , mas ao mesmo tempo numa transversal mais calma Oq faz nao ter perturbação a noite. É verdade que tem uns quartos melhores que outros inclusive o meu tinha banheira, terraço e mais 1metro Mas tambem tive a sorte de me dar bem com alguem q pernoitou em uma casa de banho com poliban e nao tem nada a ver com essas fotos.. Nao se enganem tem muita gente , muita concorrência e creio q dai q mais comentários negativos.. Rececao quase 24h Uso frigorífico, possibilidade alugar cofre etc

voila un hostel où il faut chercher au-dela des apparences : Alberto et son équipe sont vraiment disponibles pour rendre le séjour agréable avec des bonnes adresses, une grande gentillesse,et ils parlent plusieurs langues. centre ville

Casinha muito bem apresentada com boas condições Localizada numa zona com bastante movimento. Algum ruido normal da zona. Funcionários muito prestáveis e atenciosos Fizemos uma reserva à última da hora devido ao cancelamento do voo e fomos recebidos muito bem
