Corredores do hotel com aparência muito antiga, uartos equipados com mobilia muito antiga, as refeições servidas (excepto pequeno almoço) só são de qualidade em datas servidas, o hotel não tem estacionamento gratuito. Pequeno almoço é de qualidade, a piscina interior tem um ambiente agradável, Staff simpático e atencioso pronto a ajudar.

First the good bits. The hotel cleanliness is excellent all departments. Food is plentiful all be it typical 3 star. The rooms are well proportioned but a bit dated. Staff were excellent. This is a well placed location within easy reach of bars,restaurants and shopping. The downsides. Next to the pool Area is a large construction site and from 8am Till 6pm very noisy.(see video) with Jack hammers pounding away and very noisy builders. I must say this is no fault of the hotel. Be aware like most of maderia walking is hard with up and down steep hills and steps. Again beyond hotel fault. See attached photo of building site. Arrived 16th December still here till Feb. Been here many times the staff are amazing. Hotel rooms are kept spotless. No complaints with either breakfast or evening meals. Highly recommend for New Year fantastic food with drink included and a superb view of the fireworks from the roof. Then back down to continue party. Yes the hotel could do with a refurbishment but the testament is it is always fully booked so shows their donning something right. The staff will do anything for you the location is excellent beautiful pools and gardens. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

As an older solo female traveller, I was very pleased at the warm welcome and attention I received from Idalina and Filipa at reception, and their ongoing help with any queries. Due to gusty winds our flight from the UK had been delayed by two hours. I felt safe on my own at this hotel, and would recommend it. There was a security guard in reception at all times. I had booked tours of the island through my travel agent, Hays Travel, who use Lido tours. Idalina explained I would have to contact them direct. I highly recommend Lido tours, they sent me a text the night before a trip confirming the meeting place in the morning, and each guide was amazing in their own way. Idalina was also extremely helpful when I had to ring down with a query later in the evening. My studio room with balcony was on the 4th floor, accessible by either of two lifts or the stairs. It was very clean, with a small kitchen, fully equipped. It was a large room with tv, ample wardrobe space, a table and chairs, dressing table and chair, and twin beds. The bathroom had a shower attachment over the bath. I had received all information upon arrival, and was pleased the restaurant was still open at 2100. The restaurant offers a buffet and as a vegetarian my choices were limited. The restaurant staff are very professional, the Gala night on Christmas Eve was very pleasant. Location wise the hotel is a 45 minute walk from Funchal. The number 1 and 2 bus taking you into town are available from the bus stop on the main road opposite the hotel, and there are many taxis available. Across the road from the hotel is a small coffee shop, and a pharmacy. A few minutes beyond this is a large three storey shopping mall with a large supermarket on the lower floor.

We have just returned after a stay of nine nights Beware of excessive noise from building works going on next door Starts at 8.am every morning until early evening, the hotel should state this when making a booking. Pools ok (no one in them as who wants to listen to demolition work while soaking up the weather) No staff in pool bar had to walk to main hotel to get drinks. Was told no drinks or snacks at pool after 6 as it wasn't summer yet? Happy hour between 6.30 and 7.30 had to ask if discount applied as they forgot. Breakfast is the same everyday no effort from staff just unhappy faces watching for everone to finish as they wanted to prepair for lunch. Rooms were spacious we had a garden view but I agree with other comments about them being dated and tired. Beds were hard with plastic sheets underneath? Location is fine just a short stroll to a shopping centre and good public transport links. Such a shame too many bad points as Location was fine.

Dreadful experience. The hotel has a nice swimming pool in the courtyard, completely ovetshadowed by the horrendous sounds of drilling and demolition every day from 09:30 until 19:00, weekends ecxluding. If only had the frontdesk the elementary decency of apologizing for the inconvenience, but guess what, they did not seem to care. The level of noice reaches 80-95 decibels, which is as if you were standing 5 meters from a highway full of trucks. NEVER AGAIN!!
