58 on Cron Motel

The location is amazing, just 30step away from the heli hike location. There is free parking just infront of every unit. Kitchenette is good, with plate, bowl and pan.. we cook dinner at our place. There was bathtub and it was clean and nice, manage to enjoy a hot tub in my own room. Toilet come with a heater light, so good for winter. Will book again if I come back here

Good location for doing the trips from the area. Car parking straight outside. Big enough clean and tidy room with seating area and small kitchen area. It was comfortable and warm. Easily to walk into the town for shops, restaurants and any trips you had booked onto.

Good location. Good country town accommodation. Everything as provided in your kitchen if you wanted to self cater. Supermarket just around the corner. Helpful office staff who explained where everything was in the town so your visit to Franz Joseph was enjoyable.

We stayed 2 nights as part of our NZ south island tour. We had a warm and friendly welcome an our room was simple but comfortable. It's easy to walk from the motel to the shops and restaurants and start points for various activities. Continental breakfast cones in a box, with milk, muesli, long life milk and some small 'toasts'. It was a bit disappointing.

Lovely site, basic but perfectly adequate for our stay. The couple who look after it were really friendly and helpful. We borrowed a rice cooker to use, Only downside was kitchen didn't have much to cook with, so we had to improvise. Even cooking scrambled eggs we had no jug to make it in. Beds comfortable, one bedroom only had one bedside table so that meant I had to put stuff on window sill behind me , and it got wet. Shower was extremely good very powerful and loved the heater above you. One warning don't cook onions or spicy food , they requested that not to cook otherwise would charge you cleaning fee because of the smell!!

A surprisingly good motel for the tariff. It was spotlessly clean, heaps of hot water, roomy bathroom, quiet, good laundry, and not far from anything. Sitting outside having a wine looking at the massive mountains behind the motel was also a bonus.

A very nice basic motel with everything one could need. Not fancy, but I gave it a 5 rating because it is perfect for its price range. The bed was comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and room had all necessities. Be aware the reception area closes early (I think it was at 8 pm)

Loved this place, clean, functional and great layout. They've clearly thought of everything you need for a stay in Franz Josef. Very well equipped in terms of cooking facilities, crockery, iron, TV/Dvd etc. Liked the fact that even the remote controls for entertainment had been cleaned and wrapped in paper bag for the next person's use. Very comfortable beds. Netflix available, which we used on an exceptionally rainy day! Near to restaurants/bars/supermarkets and for helicopter flights. Ample parking. Just great.
