Christianne was a very welcoming host and nothing was any trouble to her Room lovely and warm and cosy Continental breakfast was great Good location and quiet Definitely going back highly recommended As a traveller who stops in many hotels and bed and breakfasts i can say this place is most welcoming

We had a wonderful meal tonight. My husband had the shellfish and I had a lovely soup and fresh veggies. Very sweet staff and friendly bartender. Great atmosphere with lots of historic character. Overall great experience and would recommend dinner here to anyone.

Well was here for a weeks work and let me tell u.this is a hidden gem absolutely amazing from breakfast and the room a can’t say how much we were welcomed and looked after the place is absolutely stunning from the decor to the staff it was just lovely so it’s a 5* review from me and my colleague will definitely be recommending this outstanding hotel to our employers for future reference thanks again 👌

We spent a lovely weekend here. Everything from the warm welcome and the offer to carry my case up to our room when we arrived until we left on Sunday morning was just perfect. Our room was lovely and with little extras you don't usually get.....bathrobes, a hot water bottle and a fleece blanket, a cafetiere, a teapot, a Tunnocks Wafer and a Tunnocks Teacake. The room was warm with heating easy to regulate, the bed was very comfortable and the ensuite with shower was very good and with toiletries provided. We had invited some family for an evening meal with us on the Saturday and everything was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. There is so much attention to detail and the owner and all the staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is a memorable one. We will definitely return.

We received a warm welcome from David and Sophie on our arrival. David then personally showed us up to our lovely decorated room which had all the facilities one would need for a pleasant stay. Though the room was fitted with a double bed the comfort of the mattress was exceptional and came with two plump pillows each one firm and one soft. We ate dinner in the Hearth restaurant and can only discribe the food as being of exceptional quality and well presented served by the very friendly Sophie. Would highly recommend the Old Mill Inn. The breakfast choice was also excellent with most things offered to satisfy any appetite.

Brilliant, the service and attention to detail through our stay excellent. The room cozy with all the necessary heating, toiletries and a really comfortable bed and a fantastic sleep. Breakfast to die for with all requirements catered for, tasty and delivered hot.The hosts deliver excellent service a deserve to be busy, will most certainly return soon, many thanks for a wonderful stay.

We went on Thursday 26th October 2023 and when we went in it was empty. We were greeted by a man who took us to a table then a woman gave us the menu. On looking at the menu it was soooo overpriced for what was available. We decided to have the fish and chips. The only good thing was the chips. The fish was awful in the most dreadful batter and the processed peas that had been puried were dry and uneatable. We had a lager and a small wine. For that meal there was no change from well over 50 pounds. A guest came in whilst we were there and having listened to the conversation he was having with the owner it is a very good place to stay. The owner indicated it was the bed and breakfast that did well and NOT the restaurant. We would suggest the owners review and change the menu and bring down your prices. Your prices are so pricey. If you did this your restaurant would do much better. We would advise persons thinking about going there to check out the menu before going. On reflection now we wish as soon as we saw the menu we should have politely departed but we were desperate for an meal. From utterly disappointed visitors to this location.

Had a fantastic mother's day dinner with my daughter. We both had the roast beef,cooked to perfection. We then shared a dessert,which topped our off experience. The staff and host was so welcoming. Great atmosphere and can't wait to return. After a busy day they done amazing job 👏

I rarely leave reviews on here but feel compelled to after an extremely underwhelming dinner. I had a starter and a main, and a pint of lager; this came to over £57 including gratuity (as the service was generally good). I feel this was grossly overpriced: 1. The starter (pork belly - £14) was tiny and extremely chewy. £14 in most local restaurants would get you a decent sized, good quality main. 2. The main (steak - £32, plus a £4 sauce) was cooked well, but the cut of meat was extremely chewy again. The sauce (mustard and whisky) was bland and watery, and a complete waste of money. I’m not sure if the restaurant / chef simply had a bad night; I am generally pretty relaxed about eating out and rarely find too much to critique, but the quality and taste simply do not reflect the steep prices. Our party of four all found similar issues with the meals they ordered; nothing earth-shatteringly wrong, but certainly not worth an average price of £55 pp for two courses.
