Macbeth's Hillock

This site is small but perfectly formed! Only 5 pods and no neighbouring properties makes for a very peaceful stay. The pods are extremely comfortable with all the necessary equipment for cooking, barbequing and sitting out. Although compact, they make excellent use of space with adequate storage, seating and a fantastic ensuite. The ease of booking and pre-arrival communication Karen and George was spot-on as well.

As a solo traveller with 2 medium-sized collies, Macbeth’s Hillock was perfect for our 2 night stay. The pod is well thought out, with small thoughtful touches, though very compact in floor space & possibly challenging in roof height for those above 6 foot, in view of the triangular roof. But for my needs, it worked really well. - Good fixtures & fittings - Hot shower with good water pressure - All necessary ‘extras’ - soap by basin, washing up liquid, surface cleaner, washing cloth & tea towel. - Camping chairs, great for enjoying breakfast on the small decking area in front of the pod (I had beautiful weather!) - Excellent service & communication in the booking process with self-service check-in I found the bed a little firm but recognise beds are a personal thing & it was better than camping on the ground!! Also I could hear the noise of the A96 - not a major issue but as I live in a very rural area, I noticed it. And I loved the walk down the country lane from the site for the dogs! Overall, loved my stay & congratulate the owners on what they’ve achieved! It’s the little touches which make you realise they care.

The little cabin had everything I needed for me and my 2 children and we were made to feel very welcome. There was washing up liquid and toilet roll, an unexpected tv with plenty of stations to occupy the kids in the early mornings, hot shower, great heater, toaster, kettle, fridge and hob .All so clean. Beds comfy. Little shop for anything needed, football and net and some small toys in shop area. Easy access to beaches/shops/attractions/airport and train station. Friendly hosts came to say hello as we left to check everything had been ok. Would definitely recommend a little holiday here, warm enough to stay in winter too. Enough room for 4. The kids loved their own little “gingerbread house” .

We had a great stay. Karen was brilliant at helping before and during our stay. The pods are small (as you’d expect) but have all you need and can fit 2 adults and 1/2 kids. Lots of warm water. Lovely little area for BBQ, picnics and for kids to play. There is even an honest shop in case you have left anything at home. We’d gladly come back here again!
