Our stay at B&B Leopoldo from May 20th to 22nd, 2024, was terrible. We received no check-in instructions and arrived at 12 AM, after our flight was delayed due to technical issues, only to find the place closed. We were unaware of the 7 PM check-in deadline due to poor communication. Neither the website nor Agoda mentioned this policy. We were unexpectedly charged €50 for late check-in, a fee that was never disclosed. This fee was simply for pressing a button to open the door automatically—there was no one present to check us in or open the door in person. The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional when we tried to address these issues. The owner and manager, Viola Lazzeri, has no sense of customer centricity. From the very beginning, she spoke rudely and showed no empathy towards us. Her primary concern seemed to be making money. When I brought up the extra charge for the late check-in, she refused to listen and even told me she couldn't stand my voice. Shockingly, she invited me to go downstairs (outside the building) so she wouldn't have to listen to me anymore. To top it off, she threatened to kick us out even though we had paid for our accommodation. Avoid this place—there are better options in Florence with transparent policies and respectful staff.
