Residenza Della Signoria

When travelling with my family all we had was a terrible experience. The beds were horrendous, the pillows hard as bricks, the bathrooms full of mold and fungi. We couldn’t receive our money back once we asked. There was a hobo living at the entrance of the building every single night.

The room is small but has character. Very high ceilings and antique phone. No safe. No frills . Our train was delayed, so we had to get into the building with two different codes . It was dark, and we had trouble seeing the keypad. Luckily, another guest was coming out and showed us how to get in and how to use the sort of scary looking elevator. Once we got it, all was fine, but I panicked at the thought of not getting on. The host had messaged us the codes while we were on route, and he was a sweet young guy. But in the future, I think.i will be sure there is a reception desk or the hist will meet you at the property to let you in and Orient you on person I guess my age is showing. The hotel is in a good location. Did not have far to go for food choices. We got lost a lot, but that's on us. The property is good.

This was the perfect location for us, a multigenerational family of 10, including 3 children. Having an elevator was extremely helpful with luggage and since one of our family members was recovering from a medical procedure and would not have been able to manage stairs. It was centrally located and a very short walk to many major attractions. The children loved being steps away from the carousel and across the street from excellent gelato. I cannot say enough about how kind and welcoming Stefano was. He was available to us at anytime and never made it seem like a burden to respond to a request. For this reason I cannot imagine staying at any other accommodation in Florence.

Ik heb hier een geweldig verblijf gehad. B&B ligt op een top locatie . De kamer was perfect : prachtig ingericht met mooie hoge plafonds. Verder zeer comfortabel en schoon. De eigenaar was super vriendelijk, vond het geen probleem om naar het hotel te komen om mij in te checken nadat ik last minute voor het hotel stond. Al met al een top ervaring!

Abbiamo trascorso 5 giorni alla Residenza della Signoria a inizio Settembre 2022. La struttura si trova al terzo piano di un palazzo storico che si affaccia su una traversa di via dei Calzaiuoli, in pieno centro storico di Firenze. La posizione è assolutamente favolosa per un turista, visto che si trova a meno di 100 metri da Piazza della Signoria e a circa 200 metri dal Duomo. Pertanto, tutto è raggiungibile facilmente a piedi. Noi siamo arrivati in treno e la stazione di Santa Maria Novella dista circa 15 minuti a piedi. La stanza in cui abbiamo soggiornato era una Junior Suite, con due letti aggiunti per ospitare 4 persone. Nonostante i letti aggiunti le camere sono spaziose e vivibili. La struttura è stata ristrutturata da recente e quindi le camere erano in condizioni perfette, con un arredamento classico che si addice a un edificio storico. Le stanze hanno l'aria condizionata (che abbiamo usato molto), cassaforte, televisore, phon e bollitore. Nonostante la stanza si affacciasse su via dei Calzaiuoli, che è molto affollata, il livello di insonorizzazione è molto buono. Non abbiamo riscontrato alcun punto negativo. Anche se la struttura è definita come un bed & breakfast, non viene servita la colazione, pertanto abbiamo fatto solo pernottamento. Non mancano i posti dove fare colazione, anche se bisogna fare attenzione al costo se ci si siede al tavolo (6€ per una tazza di the e 3€ per una brioche). Per quanto riguarda pranzo e cena, c'è solo l'imbarazzo della scelta, viste le centinaia di ristoranti nella zona. Nelle immediate vicinanze, noi abbiamo provato Cacio & Pepe e Hosteria da Ganino, entrambi molto buoni e a buon mercato, che si trovano a 20 metri dalla struttura. Consiglio vivamente questa struttura a tutti; di sicuro noi ci torneremo per una prossima vacanza a Firenze.
