At Southpoint Retreat in Florence, time slows down and the peaceful and relaxing environment helps you to navigate wherever you are headed.Within a quick five-minute drive, you can be at the beach, the dunes, several freshwater fishing lakes, two golf courses, the Three Rivers Casino, horseback riding, hiking, and some of the very best food on the Oregon Coast. Just a few more minutes in the car and you will find yourself at the Sea Lion Caves and one of the most photographed and iconic lighthouses in America - Heceta Head.Our home offers spacious accommodations for your whole family with two primary bedrooms with en suite spa-like bathrooms and cozy, plush bedding and linens. Plus, a large twin bunkbed in a third bedroom, with room for an additional playpen or cot and a cozy family room with a brand new extra comfortable sleeper sofa.The home is large and comfortable, with two separate gathering areas and a dining room that can easily accommodate nine diners. We have lots of games to keep everyone entertained. The kitchen has every tool and appliance that you might need, including an air fryer, an Instapot, and a indoor grill. We offer onsite laundry as well.Outside, we have an absolutely huge yard with two outdoor areas, each with their own firepit and mood lighting. And, since it is the Oregon coast, one of those is covered and includes a dartboard and drinks refrigerator. We also love dogs and are happy to host your four-legged friends (limit 2). We have a nice dog exercise area that includes an outdoor dog washing station to rinse off some of that sand before you all settle in to watch your favorite TV show on one of our three televisions or roast marshmallows on one of the two outdoor fire pits (or the indoor woodstove, if the weather turns). This house is in a perfect location. It is only 150 steps from Bay Street and all the wonderful restaurants and marvelous shops. The picturesque Siuslaw Bridge and River are right down the street. It's a very quiet location and you'll sleep peacefully without the normal noises attributed to other places located next to late evening establishments.Florence is consistently one of the top-rated places to visit. It's the starting and ending point of those tough enough to ride their bicycles 3000+ miles across America. It's also the Sand Boarding capital of the world. Have you ever heard of the infamous Exploding Whale of Florence, look it up! How about the novel Dune? Yes, the inspiration for one of the most influential science fiction novels of all time came from here. Eight houses north of this house is Captain Cox's 1897 home. He was the one who discovered the world-famous Sea Lion Caves. There are also 13 lakes in the area and the Siuslaw River as well. Winter months, while normal drizzle is falling, are a good time to visit the local coffee shops. There are some exceptional souvenir shops and art galleries nearby. Local artists are exceptional!You'll also hear a sound in the background. Make this your Florence home away from home.You enter the home directly into the main living area with a hall closet on the right and the door to the master suite on the left. The main space includes a comfortable sitting area with two armchairs and side tables, a coffee table, and a massively oversized couch. It’s amazing!!! A sliding door leads to a deck in a fenced off portion of the backyard. The dining space includes a table for 4 and barstool seating for another 3 at the kitchen counter. There is a clip on high chair available for families with babies and toddlers. The kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes, cookware, and utensils you should need to prepare delicious meals. Essential items provided include paper towels, sponges, extra trash bags, detergent and soap, spices, salt & pepper, oil & vinegar, and a well stocked coffee and tea station. We provide a selection of Starbucks K-cup pods and Twinnings teabags, and an assortment of real and artificial sweeteners and creamers. There is a regular coffee maker available if you wish to bring your own grounds. All bedrooms closets include an extra blanket, a luggage rack, hangers, a laundry basket, and a fan(for white noise and air circulation if needed). The master closet also contains a pack and play, baby tub, and other useful items for families with really young people. All bedrooms have their own TVs but they are not connected to cable or satellite tv. Only the living room has Spectum TV.The laundry closet is located in the hallway leading to the other bedrooms. The cabinets above the washer will be stocked with enough laundry supplies for several loads. In this space you will also find extra cleaning supplies and a first aid kit.A smaller closet down the hall is where extra towels and linens are keeps.
