As most hotels IBIS Budget Flensburg has its pro`s and con´s. I have stayed at several IBIS, and IBS Budget hotels in Europe, and I am sorry to say IBIS Budget Flensburg has most con´s... As a member of their loyalty program for many years, I had expected more. Lest start with the positive. Central location, spotless clean room, nice breakfast, and friendly guy in reception to whom we shoved our corona certificate (sic!), and recived the guest registration form, on the first evening. So to the negative. Reception does not open until 17.00 hrs so you have to check in thru a kiosk to get your room number and the code to the door. Both are only displayed on the screen so you have to write it down yourself. If you arrive early there are nowhere to leave your luggage since there is no one there to help you out. Not very convenient if you arrive by bus or train and have luggage... Room is rather small with a small (rock hard) double bed. Very small toilet with basinet in the room. So what really is bad. When you check in at the kiosk you are charged only for your first night (not possible to pay for your full stay), you are then informed you have to register at reception to present your covid certificate, no later then the next morning. As we did, se above. At breakfast we went to the receptione once more to deliver the guest registration form. After breakfast we went out and did not return until noon when the reception was closed again. And guess what, our door code was not working. Luckily there was an emergency button to get in contact with a real person, so we did and explaned the situation. We where then told the room code did not work because we had not followed the instructions and registerd our corona certificate at reception the former day and therefore they had not been able to charge us for the next night! As mentioned above that was not true. We where told we could get the same room back! (Hello who is supposed to be the professional part here?) But since the reception was closed we had to check in once more at the check in kiosk. It is OK to be cost efficient, but this has gone to far...
