Building work underway ,extending and improving. Rooms grouped in big thatched rondavels in gardens overlooking the delta. Spacious and well designed. Balcony ,design feature bathroom ,separate toilet, comfortable bed (for once a normal size single),mosquito net available for bed but no window mesh (not needed in Feb) heater. Sufficient sockets. Lighting good. Rather chilly in restaurant. Evening meal provided as part of our one night stay (14 day tour) food not outstanding but plentiful . Fresh juices(as opposed to beer or fizzy) are available but not prepared so settled for a lemon water. Breakfast rather uninspiring pseudo French (what do locals eat???) Location fantastic! Staff helpful. In the afternoon, following our arrival in an amazing motorised pirogue journey of 5 hours ,I investigated the small town. Well worth a walk about. Some tourist stalls but mainly is just a nice small fishing village. Evening on the little beach ,high tide, groups of kingfishers fishing ,pelicans floating past .
