Masseria San Francesco

Masseria San Francesco (MSF) is an elegant property set in beautiful gardens. We had a very relaxing stay and the accommodation was excellent. It is very well placed for visiting the sights of Puglia and a haven compared with the hustle and bustle of the busier tourist attractions. The nearest coastal community, Savelletri, about 5kms by road, has several fine restaurants all serving what you would expect in this famous location: fish, pasta and rose wine! Breakfast was the busiest meal and the variety food available was amazing. Dining in the evening at the MSF restaurant was a much quieter affair. The staff were warm, friendly, very helpful and we were extremely well looked after. Having studied the MSF website prior to our trip I should say that the reality of our stay far exceeded our expectations! I have no hesitation in recommending MSF as a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful part of Italy and good value for money compared with some of “Ritzier” establishments in the same area!

The resort was beautifully presented, our room was comfortable and included a spa and fireplace. Staff at Masseria San Francesco went out of their way to make us feel special as well as comfortable, to see that our stay for my husband's birthday was special.

We had an amazing stay! The property and rooms are spacious and gorgeous. Staff were all amazing and the breakfast buffet was a treat. The WiFi was great in the evenings for the work I needed to do as well. A perfect place to restore - highly recommend!

We stayed for a week at the end of May for our Gradsons wedding. The property was first class and the staff were wonderfully helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant and pool restaurant was lovely . Rooms were spacious and well equipped and the grounds were beautifully kept. I would highly recommend this property.

An outstanding stay . the rooms are very comfortable and the pool area is great with lots of room so plenty space to set the sun beds . Our dinner and breakfast were both fantastic as well The staff are outstanding . The property is so clean and so well presented and only a very short drive to the beach if that is needed Definitely recommend

Absolutely gorgeous place! We were delayed getting into Bari and collecting car etc., but had no trouble whatsoever finding the place on Google Maps. The gated driveway and entrance is very impressive, even very late at night! We didn't arrive until around 23:30 and had no problem getting a couple drinks in before bed that night! It has a very boutique feel about it, though is extremely spacious, with beautiful surroundings and very well equipped accommodations. We had a 2 bed house and a 1 bed house, both had great amenities, including and iron and board (I did enquire prior and was advised no iron, so bought my travel one, but was pleased to see one there in each accommodation!). Outdoor seating and sun loungers were provided in our 2 bed property. All of the staff we encountered were lovely and sadly on our 2nd night we had to call the emergency medic out to one of our group. This was handled very well and although I had to make good use of Google Translate, the night manager communicated great via this platform and we had help out with no fuss and in around 20 mins an ambulance was at the property. Location is great to base yourself when visiting beautiful Puglia, and we also had a meal and drinks at the stunning 5 star Borgo Egnazia - literally a 5 min drive away - what a place that is!!! My only gripe is the cost to use the spa facilities - €40. Bit steep really and should be included in the price of the room. Understand that a booking might need to be made but to charge for this is unusual in my opinion. If this was an included benefit, I am sure more guests might book treatments. By charging to use the sauna etc., it keeps some guests away so they wouldn't even see these facilties or considering booking a massage maybe? Anyway, did not detract from a wonderful stay, albeit short! (BA cancelled our outbound so we arrived a day late!).

gps brings you to a totally different place! absolutly annoying when arriving at night and have to find your way in these narrow lanes. nice welcome once you arrive, however as a disapointment, the restaurant on site was closed... so again out of the gate and depending on the gps to find your way back after dinner... however the most annoying feature of this place is the 1030 check out time - totally unacceptable!

Beautyfull Masseria, well located (12 minutes to Monopoli, 25 minnutes to Polignano a Mare or Ostuni) Delicious breakfast served outside, wonderful , well kept gardins. Very pleasent staff. Lunch and dinner are also excellent. Highly recommended 5*
