Explorer Hotel Garmisch

I had stayed at a different Explorer Hotel before and was very happy to see that one of their newest properties was in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. The room is spacious and well appointed with a very comfy bed, a window seat and plenty of power outlets. There's a safe, too, which was big enough for my 15" laptop. The bathroom is a good size with a good shower, only downside is that the water tends to run out a bit. I especially appreciated having a balcony with a view of the mountains. Check-in was smooth and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. When I arrived, there was plenty of parking available outside, though this did change during the week when a few companies held events there. But there were still many parking spots left in the garage, just a more expensive than outside. Breakfast was excellent and served until 10:30, which I made use of once. I loved the regional products, the variety of bread and rolls. The one thing that could improve is to have Weisswurst, at least at the weekend. The bar had reasonably priced drinks as well and a good selection, but could get a little busy. I used their "sport spa" area once, it has a little gym, an infrared cabin, steam room and a sauna as well as showers. It's lovely, but I think better in winter. One thing I have to mention: Their fire alarm works really well. There was a false alarm during my first night there. It was very loud (as it should be) and I was awake in an instant. The fire brigade came really quickly and let us back into the hotel within 30 minutes of the fire alarm starting. A big Thank You to those guys, as I know they are likely all volunteers. The hotel is a little outside of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Farchant, but close to the train station. While the hotel only serves from a limited menu, there are a few restaurants around. Some of the outside is still not finished, but as this property is only a few months old it didn't bother me. Will definitely return to this property next time I holiday in this area.

Tolles Hotelkonzept. Alles sehr zweckmäßig aber trotzdem gute Atmosphäre. Saunabereich sehr schön. Gute Idee keine große Speisekarte zu haben um die umliegenden Restaurants zu unterstützen. Frühstück perfekt. Sehr nettes Personal!

Wir, Fanclub mit 12 Personen, wollten beim Weltcuprennen der Damen dabei sein. Jedoch wurde das Rennen seitens Garmisch abgesagt. Die Anfrage, ob wir nur einen Teil der Stornogebühr zahlen müssten, würde verneint. Es gab auch keine kulante Lösung. Es müssen keine 12 Betten, keine 12 Frühstücke und keine 12 Abendessen gemacht werden. Eventuell werden die Zimmer ja auch noch vergeben. Da es sich um eine junge Weltcupläuferin handelt, werden noch einige Rennen in Garmisch stattfinden, jedoch werden wir dieses Hotel, das so unflexibel ist, meiden.

Sehr modernes Sport-Hotel in Farchant. Ich habe hier eine Nacht zum Start einer Mountainbike-Alpenüberquerung verbracht. Das Hotel bietet sehr moderne Zimmer, eine Tiefgarage sowie einen abschließbaren Abstellraum für die Räder, in dem E-Bikes auch geladen werden können. Eine Waschmaschine und ein Trockner für die Nutzung durch Gäste stehen im Fahrradraum bereit. Die Zimmer sind sauber, die Betten bequem. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Frühstücksbuffet reichlich und lecker. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen.
