This was the best resort I have ever visited so far in my life. The trip was part of my 50th birthday celebration. I stayed there with my wife and 7 years old son. Our stay was amazing and this resort is excellent because of its staff, location, hospitality and delicious food. Joynall who was our villa attendant was extremely kind and attentive. The bath he prepared for my wife was breathtaking. The Cheff Ashish Domee was extremely accommodating and kind. Servers, front desk, doctor and others made our stay a heaven on Earth. Thumbs up to Jaavid, Shina, Aus, Hazrat, Maaish, Yna, Tuhim, Samar and Shavin. My wife used to call me Spartan when we dated and we got villa #300 that was an amazing coincedence

The most beautiful resort with the loveliest staff who cannot do enough for you! Bars remembered our drink orders, restaurants remembered our food requests and nothing was too much trouble! We mentioned in passing whilst laughing that one of my husbands beach shoes had been washed away when the tide came in to our waiter whilst eating dinner and all had a laugh about it. When we returned to our room, concierge had brought him several pairs of brand new crocs and insisted on him choosing some, free of charge! The atol is gorgeous with plenty of marine life. We were fortunate enough to be staying in an over water bungalow and saw sharks, rays and turtles daily! Don't let out of season periods put you off either ... the staff work so hard to clear up after any storms and they are short lived! Thank you for an amazing stay that we will remember forever!

We stayed here for our honeymoon in Jan 2025. The staff are amazing - always smiling, always very friendly and helpful. The room (water bungalow with pool) was incredible. The housekeeping staff including Francis were excellent. The food in the dining room was great and the staff there - Ishan, Shani, Nahil, Hazrat, Suhana were all lovely. I had a massage in the spa with Sanjay who was amazing. The snorkelling along the reef is absolutely beautiful and we had free use of snorkels, fins and life jackets. Fawaaz who met us in Male was excellent and very helpful. There was free paddle boarding or kayaking during a set time each day. We also had the option of lots of paid activities. There was a free gym. We did sunrise yoga everyday which was free and we really enjoyed. The downside: We had a disaster getting there which isn't the Residence's fault - but we had a big delay at Male airport, then a lovely staff member from t he Residence (Fawaaz) helped us and met us there - he brought us for a free lunch. Then the domestic flight to the island was delayed an hour, it then made a stop off on another island. So in total from leaving our room in Sri Lanka to arriving in our room in the Residence it took 12 hours. The meat at times wasn't amazing - you could tell it wasn't fresh - but I understand that it has to get imported to the island so it's not fresh that day. We weren't aware of all the restaurants and things on offer on the island - we felt that the lobby or information back we were given at check in could have been clearer and a little more thorough. Also when we arrived we were told most of the restaurants were booked up for our stay - but no-one had contacted us before our trip to say we should pre book which was frustrating. Overall it was an excellent stay and we would highly recommend it.

We enjoyed a 5-night stay in an overwater villa with pool at The Residence Falhumaafushi over Christmas 2024. We booked the standard all inclusive package which was well worth it. It included a daily buffet breakfast, 2 courses at lunch and 3 for dinner which was a huge amount of food and drink! Villa 302 was large and clean and nicely decorated and in a good location to access the nearby reef for snorkelling. I would pick Villa 300 or 304 next time for privacy reasons, as villa 303 could see directly into our pool. These rooms are located on the western side of the island which is great to see sunsets from. The villa is separated into bathroom with outdoor shower, normal shower, seperate toilet, freestanding bath, bedroom, and living area. Bedroom is air conditioned and opens up onto the deck so you have a view of the ocean. The food was incredible - particularly LiBai (Chinese) and Long Island (Italian). We understand the resort has recently won an award for their food and we can see why. The food was also good at the Falhumaa, but the service was lacking on the night we visited most likely due to it being peak season. We arrived early and were told to wait outside in the heat, which didn’t happen at Long Island. We also ate at Cafe Del Sol for lunch and the Beach Bar. Food was good but service was always better on the busier side of the island. Cafe Del Sol had umbrellas and Beach Bar staff refused to put umbrellas out. Staff at all restaurants were accomodating and understanding with food allergies, which were noted on check in but seemed to need to be reminded when dining. Special mention to Jaavid at the breakfast buffet on the Falhumafushi island who went the extra mile with avocado and lemon at breakfast. Most restaurants are located at the other resort, which meant a bicycle ride or buggy ride away. But it was worth staying at Falhumafushi was a lot more quiet and less crowded. We understood the resort on this island to be childfree, but there did seem to be some families with kids so the rules must have changed? It’s good to allow up to 15 mins for the buggy to arrive in peak times. All restaurants were super clean. We had a slight hiccup on Christmas night, as we’d booked Long Island (which was confirmed) and there was special event scheduled there and we weren’t notified so we had to go to the buffet that evening. Also at one stage we were told by a staff member our choice of alcohol wasn’t included in our package when it was. I queried this with the staff member and advised him I could show him our package documents which listed this as included. We really shouldn’t have had to do this. In terms of activities, we booked the JetSki safari, which took us for snorkelling and to a sandbank. We were supposed to do this Christmas Day, but the staff recommended we reschedule due to weather. We were glad we did. It was well worth doing as the reef we were taken to was beyond the channel you could reach by swimming. We s

The Residence Maldives, truly is paradise! We had the most incredible stay for our honeymoon & could not recommend the Residence islands anymore!! The islands are so special & so beautiful but the staff truly make this island 5*. Every single member of staff was so friendly & warm & the service was impeccable. Hafiz & his team at the Dining Room on Dhigaruh welcomed us with the biggest smile on every visit & went above & beyond to make our meals special. Ramesh in the Library bar made us the best cocktails we’ve ever had & laughed with us over them each evening. Our brilliant housekeeper who bought us cookies each evening. The list could go on & on, every single member of staff deserve a shoutout. The sealife & snorkelling at the residence is incredible. The food & drinks were like no other resort we have ever been to, with so many dining options across the 2 islands & yet an incredible buffet which we were excited to return to. Every single meal we had was perfect. The pools & beach clubs are amazing! The most simple pleasure of walking & biking across the bridge between the 2 islands to spot turtles & sharks. The only feedback I would give is, our room was close to other villas where maintenance was going on so in the day we could hear workmen chatting & banging/sanding. This was only for the last few days of our stay when workmen moved closer (next but 1 villa). But we had the most insane time that this honestly didn’t matter but I would ask to ensure that your room is not close to any necessary repair work. I felt so sad to leave this true paradise which is a sign of the amazing experience we had! Thank you to everyone at the residence!

My husband and I have traveled to different tropical places. We've been to 3 islands in hawaii-oahu, kauai,big island, been to the bahamas, boracay and palawan in philippines, and fiji. Comparing to the Maldives, OVERALL, it is definitely our best one yet. We recently had our 10yr wedding anniversary and did a vow renewal at the Residence Falhumaafushi. The views, the pool and ocean waters, privacy, amenities, food, staff, and pretty much everything, exceeded our expectations! There are 2 resorts on the island, the other is Residence Dhigurah. We noticed the Falhumaafushi had more couples staying and more quiet while Dhigurah had more of families or groups. Coming from California USA, flights to Male (capital of Maldives) is at least a 24hr flight, one of the reasons people will hesitate to visit this beautiful country. Also, it is NOT cheap. Prices are similar to US; plus the green tax, 10% service charge (i asked about this and apparently this is not considered tip) and the Gov't Sales tax. The good thing though is, most resorts are half or all inclusive (food and accommodation). I found a discount on Travelzoo, which was about half off and went for it. Let me share this wonderful experience with y'all: RESERVATIONS: Very responsive. i sent emails at night for all my questions/reservations/price quotes especially because we had our vow renewal there, and i got responses in the morning. They acknowledged my Travelzoo voucher right away. They require you to confirm all your international flight details 14 days prior to arrival, however, for some reason they were asking us for details even a month and a half prior. This was not a problem for us but just something to keep in mind if you are using travel points or you're holding off on booking for flights. TRANSFERS: We paid 960USD total for 2 people for the transfers (green tax included) going to the resort and going back to Male. This is required to be paid 14 days prior to arrival. They do everything for you! (from arriving up to departing) No need to worry where to go, and yes, they speak english. A staff with a sign was waiting soon as we arrived in Male, the domestic airport is just next door. We literally just walked there, the staff guided us and did the check in for us and took us to a complimentary lunch while we wait for our flight. When we got to the domestic airport Khoodoo (1 hour from Male), a 3-minute shuttle ride took us to the speedboat going to the resort which was another 10-15mins. It was indeed a bumpy ride but they provided life vests and even gave us a hibiscus lemonade. ARRIVAL: No waiting in line! (A lot of guests come at the same time, and after a long journey this was much appreciated). They took us straight to our villa/room in a golf cart ("buggy") and a staff did the check-in process there. We had the loveliest week at the The Residence Maldives Falhumaafushi in our water villa. All staff on the island are so warming and treat the guests so well. The food was incredible and I could not fault it as it was very fresh and with the different restaurants there is a variety of options so you won’t get bored. The bikes they provide were such good fun to cycle around the island and explore. The staff put in so much effort to make sure everything is perfect, we got engaged here and they ensured everything was amazing. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a couples relaxing holiday. Particular shout out to Ramesh at the beach bar Falhumaafushi, he was excellent all holiday and made a real effort to make our holiday special

My wife and I visited the Residence Maldives at Falhumaafushi for 9 nights at the end of October. This trip was a delayed celebration of our 35th anniversary, which was in June. This was the first time we had visited this part of the world! The resort staff were very helpful as far as communicating and answering my numerous questions prior to our visit, and provided clear instructions for us. Upon landing in Male, we collected our luggage, and after exiting the baggage claim area we saw a group of representatives for a number of resorts. No one from the Residence was there, but we were assured that he would be there soon, and shortly Saifan showed up, greeted us warmly, and guided us through the check in process for Maldivian Airlines, then led us to a lounge where we could wait the hour or so to board our flight. He returned in time to escort us to the gate, and said he'd see us in nine days! The domestic flight only lasted an hour, but as we were already travel weary it seemed much longer! We were being diverted to an island an hour away from Falhumaafushi , by speedboat as the runway at the closer island was under repair. There were three couples on our flight traveling to The Residence, and we all had our bags put on hand carts and made the short walk to the dock where our water chariot awaited. It was completely dark, so the boat ride didn't provide much of a sightseeing experience, but the blanket of stars in the sky was amazing! When we arrived, we were helped off of the boat and onto a dock,(on the adjacent sister island Dhigurah) and were taken by buggy (golf cart) to our villa. We stopped briefly at the Reception building, where Summer, the on duty reservations attendant, joined us. She explained that we would normally go through the check in process there, but since it was so late, and our travel day had been so long, she would accompany us to the villa for that - how thoughtful! Being that it was still low season, some of the facilities that exist on both islands were not open full time. For instance, the dining room on "F" was open for breakfast and lunch only, and the one on "D" for breakfast and dinner. Fortunately, the dining room on "D" was still open so we caught a buggy ride there and back, and had our first meal at the resort! We awoke the next morning to stunning beauty from the deck of our water villa! As we had our morning beverages we watched turtles, stingrays, fish, and sharks swim through our "back yard". Then we got on our bicycles (which we loved!) and rode to breakfast, then explored the two islands a bit.The all inclusive package we had booked included some dinners and lunches at the specialty restaurants, and we had a lunch booked for that first full day, but early on we decided that we'd rather eat casual for lunch, so we canceled both of the specialty lunches that we had reserved ahead of time. Now that I've set the stage I'll just comment on the various aspects of this vacation from our perspective. Ha

The Residence has achieved what many others aimed at , this is a philosophy of service that makes guest feel at the centre of the world. Such warmth and charisma from all the staff and management , attention to detail is impeccable and the overall atmosphere in your beautiful resort is amazing. The rooms are impeccable , the restaurants are all fantastic and your spa therapist are fabulous and talented. Something that makes your resort unique also is the way you run your buggy cart services and the fact you provide bikes for all your guest , it is absolutely perfect. I even started greeting people placing my hand in my heart , how sweet ! I am a forever fan of your hotel ,your people and your island. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Absolutely incredible resort. Wonderful facilities, food and staff. We stayed in a water pool villa and it was an incredible experience. Far better than water villas we have stayed in at other resorts in the Maldives. We are now contemplating when we should return for another stay

Fabulous resort - 2 islands . Delicious food ,staff fantastic so pleasant and helpful. Buggies perfect for getting around esp. in the heat. Beach pool villa perfect for cooling off and also seeing sunrise. Great pool and watched so many sunsets. Just a beautiful setting.
