This place was unbelievable!!! We went for Labor Day weekend and the amenities, food and family activities were excellent!! Susan at the front desk is a must meet. She went above and beyond with her customer service and truly loved her guests and kids.

I am a travel agent and had heard great thing about this place. After staying, I will no longer be recommending to clients. We came for a couples getaway and we’re so surprised at the amount of kids here. We felt out of place. It was so noisy everywhere. No pool or beach chairs available. Towels had holes in them. Not to mention, my boyfriend proposed on this trip and worked endlessly with the staff to make sure it was perfect. He had reserved the pier and was told no one would be on it. When we walked up there were people everywhere and our proposal felt ruined. The staff did not put up a sign of the reservation or have anyone looking after it. Afterwards our room was decorated by staff and it was fine but lacked little touches. Felt very thrown together and careless. We did get refunded for the proposal though the events team tried to blame the kids instead of taking responsibility. We were told we were being disrespectful for complaining. The only redeeming quality was the food great, overpriced yes, slow service but enjoyed the food at least. Save your money, go somewhere else.

Overall the hotel was very nice. The grounds were excellently maintained. The entire staff were always pleasant and accommodating to every need. The room we had in the spa building was larger than normal and very clean. The only irritation on the room was the sheets were way too small for the mattress and it became a fight every night to keep them on. The restaurants on site were reasonable priced and were very good, with the exception of Southern Roots. Southern Roots' Manhattans @ $22 per are higher than Miami and NYC. Typical for the area was $15. The food was marginal. We had grouper which was dry and the gnocchi dish which was skillet fried with raw veggies. We did not finish either dish. The hotel had many, many more good points than bad and we will return for a late fall get together with family.

This is not a full service resort experience. Not only are you paying top dollar, the service does not match the rate. The property is VERY spread out and does not offer a lot of amenities. Want to order a bottle of champagne? Don’t call service…you need to scan a non existent QR code. Need a cup of coffee in the morning? Bring your own or trek to the main building. There is no coffee in each building like other resorts and would make total sense. Nor hydration stations. Plus, you are only given two creamers! what happens when three people in a room? Poor directional signage for a property-like this. It feels more like a condominium style property than a full service resort. Do your research. You will need to know how to get around before you get there. A friendly tip you will need your credit card at the pool to get your towel out of the vending machine. The real Star was Doris at the front desk. She was able to get us an early check-in! And the main dining room was nice, and sunset beautiful. For the outrageous price per night I would never recommend this property!

Again disappointed. I’m not sure who needs to hear this but , STOP SELLING CANNED CRAPPY WINE at the pool as the ONLY wine option . 700/night and that’s all you offer ? I have stayed at 3 dozen Ritz Carlton’s for that rate and they all have really good wine poolside selections? ABSURD!!!! Who is making this horrid descion????? And 75 dollars for a lb of crab claws and 80 dollars for a bottle of 16.99 Talbott Chardonnay? I have a corporate card so it’s all free , and I’m still writing this to expose the GOUGING and horrid food and beverage decision making process. SOMEONE please copy any Ritz Carlton food and beverage menu on planet earth and implement it here. YOU are WELCOME!

I do love this place, but I may recommend riding a bike there as a friend and I (on 2 separate weekends) had our cars hit in the parking lot. Unfortunately, there is very little security in terms of cameras so the hotel was unable to help much, if at all. They were kind, but kindness doesn’t cover 8000 worth of body work. I wish they would have better cameras/security in place.

First a big shout out to the staff at this huge, beautiful resort surrounded by the Mobil Bay and lush greens, meticulously manicured by the hard working people who run this place. Everyone was so friendly, from the front desk, to the woman riding around in her golf cart watering all the planters that dotted the landscape. My wife and I are trying to see all 50 states & Alabama was number 39 Our stay was so relaxing because of people like Luke and Tyler at the restaurant bars, Alexia, Star & Thejesh at the bike rental spot, all of the Zacks (There were at least 4!) in particular Zack by the pool who kept me well hydrated with water & local beers, and a huge tip of the hat to the maintenance man named Marcus who literally got in the pool to put a ladder together & had to hold his breath for a few minutes while he screwed in the steps to a ladder that had broken. Bravo to all of you & the few that I did not catch the names of. The restaurants, bars & activities were enough to keep us on property, but do venture out to nearby Mobil, Faithope, & Dauphine because there really is a LOT to do. I would come back here because the spa, (Kristy (?) I think was her name did an awesome massage) the pool, the hut tubs, the sunsets, the history, the dinning & the comfortable huge room.

It has been years since we visited his property and it has undergone a renovation and switch from a Marriott to an autograph collection hotel. But the same southern charm still abounds at every turn. We greeted quickly and checked into our room in an expedient and southern manner with a great description of all the amenities the hotel has to offer. He chose a diner first night in Bayside. The more casual restaurant had a wonderful tuna bowl and fish tacos to dine on the service was nice and friendly. We lounged by the pool, opting to check out a cabana for a reasonable fee and we’re delighted to see the cabana. Had a fruit platter in it when we arrived bottled water and several other small amenities. We dined that night in the Southern Root restaurant had an amazing experience, dining on scallops, crabcakes, and fantastic ribeye steak. The server Christian was excellent at his craft and it was greatly appreciated. The entire entire property was exceptionally clean and well manicured. Our room had a balcony overlooking the marina and the bay and was very easy to get from building to building activity activity. There is something really special about this and the way you feel the entire time on the property. Cannot see enough good things about it
