It was like stepping back into time checking in at the hostess stand in the restaurant and then being handed the keys to our room and outside door. Our room was in the attic, which was actually the bottom floor. (In the U.S. we call the top floor the attic.) The shower had AMAZING pressure with a fully enclosed glass door. We had a king bed, couch bed, two chairs and table, and then an outside patio area that overlooked the water. Julie, the housekeeper, made us feel welcome and took great care of our room. My favorite part is that there were real mugs for the tea and espresso service in the room. This is part of the St. Austell group of Inns and pubs which are nicely appointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mill using it as a base to explore the local area by bike, train and on foot. The hotel was comfortable, ideally located and the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved sitting in the window watching the river, wildlife and people go by.

Break away. Lovely inn on the bank of the exe. Short walk into the town or the quay. Rooms are stylish and comfortable. The bed was great and one of the best we have slept in. Lovely little touches coffee machine with fresh milk. Nice toiletries and lovely towels. We stayed in the attic room, downside the wet room where the whole room get wet. Breakfast has a nice choose, but cooked food takes along time to come from the kitchen, but luckily we where not in a rush. Would recommend to others

Lovely hotel by the river. walking distance to quay and town centre. Rooms were clean and tidy with coffee machine and payable snacks. These did take up a large part of the dressing table though so would have preferred these to be on an additional unit. Bed was comfortable with lovely pillows and duvet. We had paid for a river view which was lovely however one side of the double glazing had blown so could only see clearly out of one side. This needs to be sorted if paying for river view.. The breakfasts on both mornings were excellent. First morning we both had the full English which was good quality ingredients. Bacon and sausages very good quality. Second morning pancakes for me and salmon scrambled eggs for husband. Generous servings and cooked to order. Service was excellent and staff were friendly and attentive. Stayed in Room 6

We stayed overnight in an amazing room overlooking the river-even the room mini bar well stocked noting this place owned by a brewery! Our evening meal for four was spot-on from superb service to decent menu and great food at reasonable prices. Overall very enjoyable evening and the room a joyful surprise Thoroughly recommended

Truly excellent! The staff, accommodations, dining and setting were fantastic. All staff were warm, hospitable and professional, asking after every need. The room was very well done, extremely clean and well thought out. Such beautiful views of the river! I particularly enjoyed the dining experience – the chicken tikka masala was absolutely fantastic and the breakfast was just beautiful – with every single thing that I like. What a great experience!

Lovely location. 10 mins walk to city centre. Great beers. Wonderful staff - the meet and greet was clear, friendly, everything you’d want for a visit. Our room was spacious with a lovely river view. Super comfy bed and excellent room facilities. We particularly appreciated having fresh milk in the fridge for tea/coffee. Would recommend and will happily stay again.

This was our third time staying at the Mill on the Exe, once again it didn't fail to deliver. Our riverside bedroom was always clean and very comfortable All of the staff worked well as a well organised team which was good to see in this day and age. The cooked breakfast was very plentiful and filling but oh so tasty. the evening meals were also excellent with a varied menu to choose from, I can recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala, the best I have ever tasted for flavour. All in All a very relaxed 4 day stay, can thoroughly recommend it to others to try out.

It`s a fine place to stay, not too far from either St David`s station or the city centre, and very convenient for river walks. The food is fine, although I found the menu at dinner time a little limited for my taste, but it was fine for one night. Breakfast was good, and the room comfortable with good amenities. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The only thing I found a little disappointing was the view, which weren`t quite as they are described and a shame as they should be given the location right by the river, but the rooms seem to be set back from the pub.
