Hotel Moon Dreams Coral Beach

Booked as a last minute thing during school summer holidays. Unbeknownst to me the hotel had no running water! After asking tui to be moved they flat out refused, I had very little hope this would be a good holiday. However, we had running water! On arrival I must say hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. Bar staff were all lovely. Room was basic but as expected. But clean. However no air con at all throughout hotel. It was extremely uncomfortable not only in rooms but in restaurant and bar. It was unbearable. Food. Choice was poor in my opinion. My 15 year old pretty much had chips and bread bun everyday. She started with plain pasta but was ending up with upset tummy as did I when ate anything cooked in water or washed like salad. So we avoided!!! We ate mostly at breakfast and from the snack bar. Pool area, busy and needed to que for Sunbeds, if you wanted one that wasn’t broke!! Lots of them in disrepair. I got value for money, but I wouldnt return.

There should be a 0 star rating for this place. It simply should be closed down and frankly shocked that TUI have the place advertised. Upon arrival it was from start to finish uninviting and staff on the front desk didn’t seem to have much of an idea of what they were doing. Allocating the wrong people in rooms to share and I had to point out they had the wrong family members sharing the same room. We checked in, in the afternoon and found the room was only set up for 2 people instead of 3. They finally sent us on our way with a room key that didn’t work and had to come back down for a replacement. My dad was in the hotel room changing when 3 staff (1 male and two females) let themselves into the room whilst my dad was trying to change. They proceeded to point and request we moved all the furniture in the room to allocate some kind of space for the extra bed. The room was too small for it to be comfortable and was shoved underneath a wall light so you couldn’t sit up in bed without hitting your head. The room smelled like old drains and the bathroom although was clean, was rusty and extremely tired. We went straight down to the pool area hoping that maybe better things would be waiting to enjoy. The pool bar was the only bar available and the soft drinks were not nice at all. Tasted like the lines needed cleaning. (I work in hospitality) The beer was also the same, the juices were about the only thing I could ask for. The tea and coffee machine was dirty and what it did produce was simply not a good standard. I can only describe it as the dregs of coffee being watered down. The milk was in an open carton left in the sun all day which curdled when it was poured into anything. So we avoided the hot drinks also. The food on the first night we arrived we went in for dinner. Again the food was unpleasant to say the least. Lacked choice and nothing was even remotely warm. We couldn’t even make a salad because it was just some limp old bits of tomato and some sort of shredded vegetable. I tried to pick up a break roll and there was no butter, when I tried to eat the bread it was stale. We left the restaurant and the next morning went in again to see if breakfast might be any better. I was stood with my mothers friend at the toast machine and her bread was being toasted and half way through the machine when one of the restaurant workers came up to the machine and yanked the power cable out of the wall whilst my mothers friend had her bread lodged inside. If that had been a child they may have tried retrieving that and seriously burnt themselves, there was NO need to do that. We didn’t return to eat because we were worried someone was going to end up poorly. We requested to speak with the rep in the morning to move hotel and explained our concerns and I was shocked at the response by the TUI rep. We had a great time. Extremely clean. All the staff were friendly and happy to help. It's a buffet style, so yes, it's a little repetitive but always something to eat, fresh salad and pasta every day. Mexican night was fantastic. Always a fish dish. We missed the Indian night but heard it was good. If you don't want the food, there are amazing and cheap restaurants very close. We only went to breakfast twice due to the early finish at 09.30, but we like a lie in but our experience was good with lots of options. The entertainment team was great in the day for people who wanted to join in, great for kids.

Food was disgusting-nothing plain ,undercooked fish and chicken ,food labelled wrong ,salad limp and left out all day ,didn’t clean the tables properly, Pool was unusable -freezing cold Hardly any entertainment and what they did have lasted 15 minutes and wasn’t very good Had to pay for things eg drinks,snacks,cups even though it was “inclusive” Couldn’t have a cup of tea ,no air con or wifi available, Sun loungers were dirty and wet through and cramped together No choice for food at all Had to spend €300 on food and drinks elsewhere Grates around pool were broken and unsafe Shower went hot and cold didn’t stay at one temperature Next to a busy road all we could hear was coaches and staff moving chairs around at 4 in the morning Tui reps were very rude and unhelpful as well as most of the staff Absolutely awful experience especially for my first time abroad,didn’t get my moneys worth ,very disappointed and disgusted,will never be going again ,lovely area ,awful hotel

I don’t think you can beat this place, staff are so friendly, food is good, always a great atmosphere . We had an issue with noisy neighbours and that was swiftly resolved. You do get an odd smell of sewage but I don’t think that’s from the hotel . TUI staff are there to offer excursions and information twice a day . I’m my opinion this hotel is a little gem and we will be returning,

Just left this hotel. It scores itself as 3 star which is fair. I'll start with the good points..... Staff are extremely friendly. Hotel is basic but exceptionally clean. Very close to beach. Breakfast selection is good definitely best meal of the day. Bad points.. . Food for lunch is OK but evening is awful. It's always luke warm although there is a microwave available which I used regularly. Don't expect a lay the breakfast finishes at 9:30 and the noise in the hotel of cleaners and doors slamming will have you up before then anyway. No tea / coffee making facilities in room cost €12 to hire the kettle. As you book in you have to pay €30 for a visa not sure what that was for. The area is beautiful and clean and a short walk takes you to another quieter beach where you can hire lounger and umbrellas for the day. Costs €18 a day for 2 loungers and a umbrella definitely worth it.
