Desert Heart Luxury Camp

The wife and I stayed at this location for 2 nights in mid February 2023 and enjoyed our stay immensely. We arrived in Marrakesh by train from Casablanca and Mohamed, the owner of Desert Heart, arranged for a driver to pick us up at the train station and take us to the old Medina for our stay there in Marrakesh, then have another of his drivers pick us up 3 days later to take us to his Desert Heart camp. "All part of the package". Lets start with the driver, Mubarak. In all we were with him for 3 days and he was a pleasurer to be with. He speaks 4 or more languages, and is very knowledgeable in explaining many of the sights you see while driving to Merzouga to the camp. I recommend requesting him as your driver. Also the hotel Mohamed will use for you to stay overnight in while going to the camp is excellent, so no worries there. "all part of the package" Now the camp. It's all the pictures describe it to be, and the staff there go out of their way to make sure your stay is all you expect it to be. The on site manager, Mohamed, makes it his goal to make sure you are comfortable and that the camping experience is above par. The tents you stay in are spacious and have all the amenities that any 4 star hotel would have. The sand dunes start right at the back of the camp, so walking the dunes and taking pictures is not a problem at all. I also want to thank another camp site manager Yusof for his attention that he gives the guest. This location is a full service location to stay at with great food and atmosphere. Mohamed has you covered from the time you arrive in Marrakesh or Fes, till you get dropped back of at your next travel location leaving the camp whether it be Marrakesh or Fes or somewhere else. There is no doubt that if we travel to Morocco again and want to stay in the desert, we would definitely stay here again.

Went for my honeymoon with my wife. We took a supratour from Fez which took 14 hours to get to Merzouga. My wife and I would happily do this trip as the hospitality, the people (Mohamad, Ali, chef Mohamad), the service and the location was exceptional!! It will by far be best experience and highlight of our trip in Morocco. I have to stress the hospitality was genuine and they look after you well. We had Mohamad that came to pick us up form the coach station at 5 am, this was quite shocking as we were expecting to reach Merzouga later in the morning. He was very caring, nurturing and thoughtful! Highlights we really enjoyed were the stars, local Ghana tribesman music, camel ride, and the 4x4 jeep experience in the desert! I can't forget the five-star food cuisine. With us being vegetarian, we were well looked after and catered for. Put on a few kg's after too! We had one of the bigger luxury private rooms, it was spacious, warm, welcoming and romantic! Loved the evening fire, drum beats and the music. Would highly recommend it to all friends and family going forward!

Super nuit dans ce camp très confortable dans le Sahara ! D’abord, très bon accueil ! Le lieu de rdv est le « Riad Tamlalt », à Merzouga. Là, vous pourrez garer votre voiture en toute sécurité et tout organiser avec le réceptionniste. Il vous expliquera les activités à faire dans le coin (buggy, quad, excursions en 4x4,…) organisera tout pour vous et s’occupera aussi d’organiser votre transfert au camp. Ne cautionnant pas l’exploitation animale (sorties à dos de dromadaires), nous avons choisi de faire 1h de buggy. Avec un guide, vous partez dans les dunes et arrivez directement au camp (le réceptionniste du Riad s’occupe de faire transférer vos bagages en parallèle). C’était génial !! Arrivés au camp : quel enchantement !! L’endroit est splendide, au pied d’une grande dune. Le camp est très propre, de taille humaine, super bien décoré et le personnel est super ! Les tentes sont grandes, avec tout le confort nécessaire : un vrai lit, une douche avec eau chaude, produits de Sdb, wc. Remarque : il n’y a pas de prise électrique classique dans les tentes mais uniquement des prises USB-A (classiques). Il y a des prises normales au réfectoire si besoin. Nourriture très (trop) copieuse et excellente ! Sachez que vous pouvez demander des boissons (payantes) à tout moment : sodas, eau, bière et vin. Le soir, après dîner, musique et chants autour du feu de camp : super moment !! Merci à tout le staff qui a rendu notre séjour inoubliable ! Note : vous ne pouvez payer que en cash et le distributeur à Merzouga ne fonctionnait pas à notre venue. Soyez prévoyants !

Siamo arrivati a Merzouga in macchina senza nessuna prenotazione. Abbiamo trovato il campo online e ci ha fatto subito un'ottima impressione. È bastata una breve telefonata e immediatamente ci hanno organizzato tutto quanto. Abbiamo raggiunto il campo con una passeggiata al tramonto tra le dune in sella ai dromedari. Appena arrivati siamo stati accolti con l'immancabile tè del deserto. Il campo è molto bello e le tende dotate di ogni comfort. Ciò che però ha reso il nostro soggiorno davvero impareggiabile sono stati i ragazzi dello staff: sorridenti, accoglienti, disponibili e molto simpatici. Oltre all'ottima cena cucinata e all'intrattenimento musicale della sera ci hanno dato la possibilità di immergerci nella cultura berbera facendoci sentire a casa tanto da decidere di trattenerci una notte in più. Il secondo giorno ci hanno organizzato anche un tour della zona con la jeep. Consigliamo fortemente questo campo e le esperienze che propone, la bellezza indescrivibile delle dune di Merzouga farà il resto. Ps: si legge "marzoka".
