The interior is attractive and bright. Everyone on the staff, which included the front desk, restaurant employees, and housekeeping, were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of hot and cold choices for breakfast. One night I dined in the restaurant and had the Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. It was delicious. The hotel is just off O'Connell Street and the shopping area. There is a free guest parking lot in front of the hotel and they will give you a metal disk to raise the barrier bar, for when you leave the parking area. Their parking lot is adjacent to the Pay and Display parking area so you need make you that you are parking in their lot.

This is a very comfortable place in a beautiful town. We would return if given the chance. We only had one night here but it was wonderful. Walking distance from the train station - and very flat which was great with rolling luggage. Friendly staff and very clean.

The Templegate is a superb town centre hotel with great staff, fabulous food and spacious, well appointed rooms. Its success emanates from the local owners, whose values filter down to every part of the operation. The result is a real gem located in the heart of Ennis town. Food and drinks offerings are superb. It must be good. It’s the favourite for locals, too. Every staff member exudes a professional yet friendly ethos that emanates throughout the hotel, which stands on the site of a former convent. Its unique design evokes a still remembered past. Yet with all the modern facilities. Free parking is an added bonus for guests visiting the beautiful surrounding countryside, castles and historic sites dating back billions of years. What a find. Ignore some of the negativity. The hotel is placed just off O'Connell street in the centre of Ennis. The Templegate is spotless and well maintained. All staff extremely friendly. We stayed for 3 nights B&B with dinner in Preachers Pub on one night. We had asked for a quiet room on booking. Our room was lovely. Spacious with a large bathroom. Breakfast was great, with a good selection of options (I recommend the porridge and the salmon and scrambled egg) and the staff very accommodating and friendly. Special mention to Marie on reception. She was so welcoming and cheery when you passed through. She ensured we had a quiet room and allowed us early access to our room. Thank you. Would I stay again? Definitely.

Not good value at €252 b&b per night, executive room only one available, not what I would expect as an executive room needs modernising, TV small & old fashioned. Decor in need of refresh. On the up side both dinner & breakfast excellent, staff lovely. To sum up room overpriced for room size & quality. Eamon

Nice, comfortable hotel in a great location in Ennis. We booked 2 rooms for our family of four for 1 night, at the tail end of our visit to Ireland. Not far from Cliffs of Moher, and easy drive to Shannon airport. We had dinner at Preachers Pub, a very cool place. Also great breakfast at Legends Restaurant with fast & friendly service. Deinitely recommend.

Great hotel, no noise, spotlessly clean and great location. Have no complaints will be back again. Central location was within walking distance of shops. Staff very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Food and drink were excellent. Couldn’t be better
