Nine Skies

Nine Skies is simply stunning. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful setting among tea plantations and the peaceful atmosphere. The bungalow has so much charm, with lovely rooms that are both elegant and comfortable. The staff were incredible—so friendly and attentive, making us feel completely at home. The food was outstanding too, with fresh local flavors and the afternoon tea was a real treat. We loved exploring the area and then relaxing by the pool with those amazing views. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the best of Ella. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Nine Skies - it was the perfect place to rest and relax after exploring the tea plantations, riding the train, visiting the nine arch bridge, doing the zip line and walking up to Little Adam’s Peak. We were very well looked after by friendly and hospitable staff at Nine Skies. A highlight was the cooking demonstration with Chef Roshan who taught us how to cook delicious Sri Lankan curries - with plenty of spice! in the most beautiful setting. Definitely recommend!

Nine Skies is absolutely wonderful! We had only one regret about our stay there - we should have stayed longer! We are a family of four and stayed in Ella Rock Suite, we had plenty of room and the beds were very comfortable and the room silent. The staff and service was out of this world! We lived like kings.Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our children felt immediately at home. We stayed at 5 teardrop hotels (they are all fantastic) and did a Teardrop Journey - which I REALLY recommend. Our journey included many activities. At Nine Skies we did the guided Little Adam's Peak trek, did the ziplining at Ravana, walked to the Nine Arch bridge and went down to Udawalawe national park. These were all carefully curated for families in mind and our kids were incredibly sad to leave. The food (all included!) was fantastic, they catered for the vegetarians in our group very well, adapting the menu and offering to cook different meals if wanted. We loved the Kotto night! In summary, this was one of the best places we have ever been and return tomorrow if we could. Book it!

Incredible property set high above Ella in Demodara. The 360 views of the surrounding hills and mountains are spectacular. The entire experience is one of calm and relaxation. The staff are excellent, and unfailingly polite. The food quality and service are exceptional. Our bedroom was spacious and well equipped. A truly first class experience. 100% recommended.

This was our 4th visit to Nine Skies. We stayed in our favourite room - Welimada. The location of the bungalow is wonderful and we had a beautiful view from our terrace. We love everything about this bungalow including the terrace where we enjoyed all our meals. What makes a stay here supremely relaxing is the delightful and helpful staff. We were made to feel very welcome by Suraj who checked on us regularly. The butler who looked after us was the very personable and efficient Udara. A highlight was the cookery demonstration with chef Roshan. We were impressed by the quality and freshness of all the ingredients, many of which were grown in the garden. Great stay! My friend and I had the best time at Nine Skies! This hilltop boutique hotel is such a peaceful escape, with stunning views and a super relaxing vibe. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredible—so friendly, attentive, and always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious, easily some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Every meal was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. We looked forward to every bite! What we loved most was just how calm and quiet it felt—perfect for unwinding and soaking in the beautiful surroundings. If you’re looking for a cozy, luxury stay with top-notch service, Nine Skies is a must-visit. We’d go back in a heartbeat!
