Makis Hotel

Thank you to all the staff at the makis for a great week. The location of the hotel is perfect, over the road from the beach and a short walk into town for bars, restaurants and shops. Its a good 3* apartment complex, clean and tidy and comfortable. For its appearance and location its easily the best on the beach front. The staff are hard working, but above all freindly and pleasant and take time out to talk to you and make you welcome without been over bearing or intrusive, this was my 1st visit to the makis and in fact any part of greece, and i dare say that at some point we will return in future.

We stayed at Makis hotel for ten nights. The hotel is right on the beach and just a five minute walk to the centre of Skala. The grounds are well maintained and glamorous with day beds around the pool and a great bar area. We opted for a seaview room and was situated right on the front of the hotel. Rooms are spacious and cleaned meticulously, our only issue was the lack of storage space in the bathroom (we don't travel light) so a shelf would have been good to put our things on. Breakfast was great, good selection and something for everyone. With us coming from the UK there's a two hour time difference so we missed breakfast service a few times as it was served until 10am. It would be good if the hotel could extend breakfast service by half an hour for us late risers. Other than that we had a great time and would recommend Makis as a great base to explore Skala.

Perfect holiday from start to finish. The hotel is spotlessly clean, whether it be the beautiful rooms, the pool area or the public places. Lia and all her lovely staff are extremely polite, helpful and such a delight at all times. Thank you Makis Hotel, we have had the best time once again ❤️

My daughter and I have just returned after spending a week at the lovely Makis Hotel in Skala. We had the BEST time, all the staff at the hotel were very friendly, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable, they made sure to check ingredients on all food and bought gluten free bread as my daughter has coeliac disease. The room was clean, spacious and I loved the modern decor. Being right across the road from the beach and only a 7 minute walk to the main village was awesome, I feel the location of the hotel couldn't be better, and we loved that it wasn't too big or too busy. We were very sad to leave and hope to return to the same hotel again in future.

This hotel has had a recent refurbishment and is smart and modern. The pool is adequate for the amount of guests and has a small shallow area at the bar end. The bar is open from 08:30 until around midnight and is reasonably priced. €15 for a half litre of wine and a large beer at the time of writing this review. The bar is a modern, airy and a pleasant place to sit in the shade. The bar serves high quality snacks/food until 16:00. The room was modern and clean. The balcony's are separate and traditional. The room we were allocated was on the garden side of the hotel but we still had a partial sea view from the balcony. We were on the second floor which was accessible by stair case. The hotel is located a short walk from the main centre of Scala which has an ample supply of bars, tavernas, shops and supermarkets, and a lovely church. The beach is across the road from the hotel. The hotel offers sunbeads and parasols, €15 per day for two sunbeds and a parasol at the time of writing this review. The staff are polite, helpful and professional. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

My Wife and I along with my Son, Daughter and their partners who are all in their early thirties stayed for a week in late June. Suffice to say, the Makis Hotel is exactly as it appears on their website. For us, the location was just perfect, as you can actually go from your pool sunbed, through the entrance gate, across the road onto the sand and shingle beach and into the crystal clear sea in less than 30 seconds! Beach has water sports and boat trip options, as well as potential to see sea turtles. Hotel has a great range of drinks (2 pints + 4 Cokes = £20) and lunch time food at less than UK prices and with bigger portions and measures! The Clientele was similar to our group in age and 90% British. Other highlights were the hot & cold self service breakfast, strong free wi-fi throughout and even a hotel cat with 4 kittens! Low key Greek and easy listening music, quality sun beds around pool, rattan chairs and tables in shade areas and even poolside Cabanas! (Day beds) So comfy! Kept beautifully clean and tidy everywhere, including our 3 rooms and poolside WC’s. 2 Beach sunbeds and parasols at 15 euros per day, with bar service on demand via online ordering. Mini markets within 5 minutes walk. Town Centre and restaurants within 7 minutes and Metaxa Beach & Music Bar within 3 minutes! Ancient Roman Villa site within a 12 minute stroll. Staff are excellent and very attentive with Lia, Helen, Dimytrios, Adonis, Panos and Katrina of particular note. Had such a great time we would all not hesitate to return.
