Set in a fantastic location with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, La Compañía del Valle is a stylish, art-inspired hotel that feels both elegant and unique. The pool is excellent, with hot water—a rare and welcome touch in the highlands. The breakfast was great, fresh and satisfying. Service was consistently attentive and warm, making for a relaxed, high-quality stay. Special thanks to Cleovis, who was very attentive. Otherworldly. We have literally travelled the world and this is one of, if not THE, best hotel resorts at which we have stayed. The service (from true hospitality professionals like our host Bastian, manager Daniel, restaurant host Juan and our regular server Berta), is world class. We were even greeted by Chris Lentz, the owner, who we suspect had better things to do, but spent time with us anyway. The room was large, well appointed and magnificent, with a balcony view of the volcano, the jaw dropping arts garden and surrounding cloud forest. The daily complementary happy hour was a nice touch. El Valle de Anton is a magical place, made even more so by the addition of this exciting new property, replete with gardens, art, three pools (including an underground salt pool), a spa, three truly amazing restaurants and ample parking. On our first morning alone, my Merlin app identified no fewer than 28 species of birds in the area. It was a great escape…and literally only about two hours from Panama’ City.

Hotel is set in a lush crater of a volcano very close to a quaint little town. The design and artwork is of a caliber I have never seen before. Every evening you can meet the other guests and watch the sun set on their roof top patio where drinks are on the house between 5-8pm. Although the main restaurant wasn't completed yet, we enjoyed fine dining in the restaurant connected to the main lobby. There is world class hiking which we really enjoyed. I was told it was a photographer's paradise, and that turned out to be true . The staff were all local and so welcoming! Can't wait to go back next year!

Absolutely stunning location, views and garden; the food was outstanding - food memories made! The staff were fantastic, welcoming, and on top of their game. This hotel is recently remodeled so everything about the room was perfect and spotless. I really loved the rooms - well appointed, beautiful details and a fantastic balcony (sofa chaise lounge outside) with a fantastic view of the beautiful (almost mystical) mists that descend upon the green of the mountains. Can’t wait to return!

This five-star property was a splurge for us yet was in the Hyatt family and in the right place for itinerary. We stayed during their soft open period, and you’d never know it. We had a superb stay at a very interesting property. We highly recommend checking out the La Compania branded hotels in Panama…they are doing some remarkable and visionary work in lodging experiences. We loved everything about our stay. Pro’s/highlights: - Super-friendly staff everywhere on the property. - Very high-end rooms, immaculately clean and maintained. We especially enjoyed the balcony and furniture there. - The building and grounds are wonderful, cozy, inviting…feels very Tuscan. - A very interesting collection of artwork throughout the property. Spend a couple of hours just browsing. It’s great. - There was a very nice welcome amenity waiting in our room. See photo. - The main restaurant was excellent. (We did not try the fine dining this trip). The chef is a Michelin star and has worked throughout the world bringing unique experiences to the dining. - For Hyatt status visitors, they offered a very nice happy hour at the open-air bar on the third floor. Great sunset views. - Our rate included complementary mini-bar in the mini-fridge in the room. Nicely stocked with soft drinks and beer. Some other general notes: - Watch the in-house hotel channel for a history of the hotel and its sister property in Casa Viejo Panama City. Gave us so much more appreciation for what the owners have created. - Navigation to the hotel is easy. Just allow about 45 minutes from the main highway to El Valle on a leisurely country road. - Town is about 1.5 miles away and safely walkable. There’s plenty of parking at the hotel and in town, so drive if one prefers. - The valley is breezy. Pack accordingly. This is a great retreat about 2 hours from the City. It was fairly full on our Saturday night, and we nearly had the place to ourselves on Sunday night. We highly recommend the resort in general, and a mid-week stay probably would offer even more personalized service. Superb in every way!
