Melio Hotel Eilat

We've never stayed in that part of the city and were pleasantly surprised to find such a pleasant and basic hotel at an affordable rate. It was only one night and a nice clean room was just what we needed. There's a minibar and kettle in the room and also free coffee and water at the lobby. The staff was nice, especially Aya the housekeeping manager.

Very central location, has all you need. I read some of the reviews from previous guests & was very apprehensive, but was pleasantly surprised. The room has great aircon, a nice shower, good quality Dead Sea soaps/shampoos in pump pack bottles. The in room fridge works, they left 2 small bottles of water in the room which was appreciated. Eli on the reception desk is super friendly. They clean the rooms each day. There's free coffee/tea at reception area with indoor & outdoor seating/tables. A vending machine selling drinks at a very reasonable 6 shekels each. Some great eateries really close & awesome shopping very close - the hotel is just across the road from the central bus station To see people describe this as a hostel is so weird, because it really isn't even close to that.

I am from America and came to Israel to visit my son and his family. We went to Eilat for one day and choose this hotel because it was budget friendly. There were 5 adults and 1 baby. Our room had two beds, each bed in its own room with a door. One room had a bed and a small cot. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom ( shower and toilet) is small but clean. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. Although the shower does have doors, if you aren’t careful, water will get everywhere. The air conditioner works nice snd that’s important espresso in July. I would stay here again.

This is not a hotel, but rather a hostel. No breakfast served. Parking means one space behind the building. Claustrophobic rooms, no twin beds – they expected my adult sons to sleep in one bed under one blanket. No elevator to higher floors. View on bus depot.

Location average. Not walking distance to major pedestrian sights of beach front. They keep a blow dryer at the front desk and you have to ask for it and return it after using. There is no outlet in the bathroom for the hair dryer or by any mirror. I had to use my computer on video recording so I could see how to blow dry my hair. Who would want to steal a big heavy blow dryer so I don’t understand why the rooms don’t come equipped. The bottom level we were on had an emergency exit that was locked from the inside. In case of fire we did not have an exit to use. When we arrived the front desk was unhelpful about parking when we found the street barricaded to get to the back hotel parking area. A very c’est la vie attitude. Pros are that the hotel is clean and they clean every day with fresh towels. The sheet was old and had nubs which made it a rough feel. This is a very basic hotel.

This place is basically a hostel that charges ridiculous prices to sleep in a prison cell. The rooms are tiny and uncomfortable, there's the crappiest hand soap dispenser in the shower, there are zero amenities. They advertise free parking, there is ONE space for the entire hotel. There's no elevator, no nice view and the staff is problematic to say the least. Whatever you do, don't stay here, there is much much better value elsewhere.
