Ramada by Wyndham Effingham

Took awhile for front desk to even know we were here. Room smelled musty. Moldy bathroom ceiling. Air conditioner smelled when used. We did not use it. Snacks up front were almost empty. Continental Breakfast did not look appetizing. We left and ate somewhere else. We will not be back.

The location is great and the breakfast is a big plus. I always get a quiet and clean room and everyone is friendly and helpful.

A/C didn't work properly. VERY VERY LOUD NOISE WHEN IT WORKED. Very loud exterior noice into the room

I thought Ramada hotels were nice, and the price we paid for our stay was certainly the price of a nicer hotel. This Ramada looked like a Motel 6 that hadn’t had the carpet changed since the 1980’s. The carpet smelled moldy and was stained badly. It was warn thin at the edges. The beds and bathroom were clean, so we were able to sleep, but everything that is not often touched was dusty. The wall had a section where the sheetrock tape was bubbling away from the wall and one of the lamp shades was bashed and torn then taped. The dining area was barely clean. All the serving pitchers and dishes looked old. The whole hotel needs completely renovated! The hotel staff was very helpful and kind. If she hadn’t been we probably would’ve left.

We have stayed in better. We have stayed at worse hotels. Signs say non- Smoking hotel but the room reeked of old smoke. Hotel was run down. At night you would not have known a hotel was there because the sign was not working. We will not be staying there again.

Good value We arrived at about 10:30 pm. It took a bit for anyone to show up at the desk so we could check in. I called and that did not work. Finally located a service bell and that worked. Update: the breakfast was really impressive for this type of stay. Fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, juice, yogurt, etc and the coffee was good. Usually it’s just cereal and maybe a waffle maker if you’re lucky. So I give top marks for the breakfast, especially considering the room price.
