Thirides Beach Resort

Excellent breakfast, with fresh made local dishes. Possibility to eat outside. Clean/ everything perfectly in order. Nice swimming Pool. 2 minutes walk to the beach. Parking free, in front of hotel. Friendly personnel. Absolutely recommended.

This hotel is only separated from the sea by a small street (with very little traffic). You can park the car on the street. We arrived in the early afternoon, and could check in without any problem (was a close call though, the floor was still wet when we entered the room. The hotel has a relative small pool, there is no need for a bigger one as the sea is just across the street – with sunbeds and umbrella’s for the guests. The rooms are really nice, I really liked the visible stones on the inside. The size of the room is good, but not excessive. Be aware though: there are no elevators, so you have to carry your luggage when using the stairs. All was very clean, and the room has all you need – including a scale and coffee machine – but no coffee (was immediately addressed when I mentioned this to the staff). Breakfast was good, we also had dinner here and this was very good too. A small side note, and not specific for this hotel: the shower has a ‘cord’, that I mistakenly assumed to be the ventilator switch. It does not activate the ventilator, but the alarm… The staff reacted as they should, with discretion, but double check you are fine. Conclusion: very nice hotel and quiet location – provided you have a car available.

Such a friendly hotel. We were given our room early which was a great help to us. It’s location is great - just across from a gorgeous beach. Our room was good with a reasonable size balcony and large bathroom. There were good quality bathrobes and toiletries and housekeeping was of a high standard. We thought the architecture of the hotel was very tasteful; it is made of stone and fits in well with its surroundings. The pool was lovely - very refreshing and a decent size. The staff who work at the bar were friendly and obliging at all times. We ate at the hotels restaurant twice and thought the standard was good. Breakfast was very good too apart from the coffee - dispensed from a machine - pretty tasteless. Lots of choice and it varied between the three days we were there. The hotel cats looked cared for too - always a bonus for me - they didn’t beg so I’m assuming they were being fed. Only a few minor criticisms - it wasn’t easy obtaining beds by the sea and it appeared that they were being used by non residents. The pool was also used by non residents too on the Sunday which meant the area around it was busy even though the hotel itself wasn’t full. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay. The town is pretty and the coastline around it gorgeous.
