Reflections Shaws Bay - Holiday Park

Well situated park with friendly staff, however the sites, particularly away from the waterfront are very tight and we have a camper trailer of only 5.5 m. We saw lots of people struggling with relatively small caravans, and thankfully the park wasn't full, as we would have been jammed in like sardines. We couldn't use our privacy screen off our awning as there wouldn't have been room for our vehicle. Also, the toilet and shower blocks, while clean, need an upgrade.

We stayed in a pet friendly cabin #4, would advise anybody considering staying in this cabin not to. The cabin is disgusting it needs a thorough overhaul on this cabin there is dust that thick on the Venetian blinds and the smell that comes out of the air conditioner is awful, the bed is very uncomfortable we paid over $180 per night I have stayed in much better for less. Behind the fridge is an open vent that insect can crawl in. The blinds had slats missing giving no privacy. I would NOT recommend this cabin to anyone

The location is great. The reception ladies were lovely. It could be a much better park if some of the sites were made larger. For example, we were on site 83 and we have a 16 foot caravan (20 foot including the draw bar), having our caravan on the site and having our living area under our awning, there was no room for our ute - a Mitsubishi Triton. Usually you are able to put your car across the front of your site but we were unable to as there was not enough room between our caravan and the exit road (we would have blocked part of the road). Our neighbours also had the same issue and they had to park on another site and hope that no one came in. I had to go ask reception if there is a designated area that we could put our car because the site was too small for it to fit. Thankfully she said she could block off a site two up from us (this is where the neighbour also had his car). If it wasn’t for this, we would not have been happy as we paid $56 per night and would have had to park our ute outside of the park and away from us. There were also issues with getting the caravan in and out of the site. We were lucky that we did not have anyone across from us at the time of moving in, but if we did, we would not have been able to get the caravan in. My recommendation is to make the sites bigger and more accessible/practical to get in and out of, as I am sure that us and our neighbours are not the first to have these problems. Good location, lovely staff, just needs a bit of reconsidering regarding some of the sites and practicality of size and getting a caravan in and out without issues.

Stayed with my 90 year old Mum in a two bedroom Premium cabin 13A. Our stay of 5 nights was excellent. The cabin was so good, had everything a family could need. View of the Richmond River was beautiful from the veranda. Staff were all friendly. Cabin had full laundry with washing powder supplied. We were very happy.
